- LindaDExplorerNorth Beach near St.Augustine is nice, we've stayed there many times. If you stay in Jacksonville Kathryn Abbey Hannah Park in Jacksonville Beach is nice, near the ocean, well shaded.
- jtbr3Explorerhttp://www.pontchartrainlanding.com was very close to french quarter, on site place to it was very good and overlooks the canal. Bad was dusty and ants but we were out every day so did not bother us too much.
- kohldadExplorer IIIWe stayed at Anastasia SP in St Augustine and really liked it. Staff was very friendly. Even though I only have a truck camper, they put me in probably the only site I wouldn't fit due to height. They offered to come back and cut the limb out of my way but I said they wouldn't cut it since it was a main limb from a huge live oak.
Regardless of where you stay, when you visit downtown St Augustine, arrive at the fort by 3:00 to get a parking space. Pay at the station for the two hours to cover you until 5:00 at which time the meters are no longer monitored. I was amazed at the number of people after 5 putting money into the pay station despite the hours being posted.
A few blocks away is Pizzalleys, a fantastic Italian restaurant recommended by one of the guards at the fort. He claimed it was better than the Italian food he ate when he visited Italy and I can understand why. We were served enough food for two meals, but it was so good we couldn't stop eating until it was gone. My wife had the Lasagna and I had a sausage calzone. For the price, we were amazed at the size of the portions. We may be going back to Florida just to eat there again. - grannyapple3ExplorerWe are in New Orleans right now staying at Richards RV Park in St. Bernard. If you are looking for a 5 star resort this is not that place but in searching for a place to stay while here I found it very difficult to find anything that we felt comfortable staying at so I expanded my search out to the outskirts of New Orleans and found this place. We decided that we would try this place for at least a night and see what we thought. We are still here. We have been here for 2 weeks, leaving today. It's a campground. About 60 sites. Sites are on grass. There are full hook ups here. 30 or 50 amp service, laundry facilities, No showers. Wi-fi is good closer to the office. It's very quiet here, I feel safe, The owner is very nice, very helpful, and really keeps an eye on the place. There are a lot of permanent residents here. They are workers that work on the refineries and pipeline here. We have not had one issue here. The weekly rate is $100.00. Nightly rate is $20. Downtown is a straight shot about a 15 minute drive on Hwy 39 (Bayou Rd), the road the park is on. While we have been here we drove around to a bunch of the other RV parks around and we are very glad that we are here. I have not stayed at any of the other parks here so I am only giving my opinion here. The group of Parks located near the CVS switching yard I was reluctant at staying because of the train noise which as previously posted was verified plus not in a very good part of town. (Jude RV Park, etc.) The French Quarter RV might be very nice inside the gates but it is also not in a very good part of town. It is right next to Interstate 10 and the main hospital and have you seen their rates? Wow!!
Here they are :

Saints Home Game Weekends: $150.00 per night (2 night min.)
MardiGras / February 5th-9th: $250.00 per night (3 night min.) - Bill___KateExplorerWe visit my brother in St. Augustine a couple of times a year, and while we like Anastasia SP, it is difficult to get reservations, especially if you have a long rig. We usually end up at the KOA, which is a little expensive, but nice and right up the street from my brother. It is also handy to the beaches, and a trolley to downtown.
- tsetsafExplorer IIIFor St Augustine Here ya go
- Big_KatunaExplorer IINorth Beach is nice but it is in Villano Beach and is a few miles from St. Aug.
Bryn Mawr is on the Ocean. It is an older early Resort CG, a little tight. You can walk to A1A and catch the trolley (bus) to downtown.
We stay one of two places; Ocean Grove in St. Aug, on the inter coastal, trolley service, walk to bars and restaurants, can be $60-$70/nite or Stagecoach; out by the interstate, bigger sires, cheaper, near Camping World.
Anastasia State Park is nice, too. Tight, hard to get into, no sewer. - southernskyExplorer

Can't help you much on St Augustine unless you're retired military. We stay at either Mayport Navy Base or Jacksonville NAS when we're in that area.
I would recommend AGAINST Jude RV in New Orleans. We pulled in there late one evening our 1st time in NOLA. We weren't familiar with NOLA at the time and only went there because we thought it was convenient. We just stayed the 1 night. There are several train tracks and switching yard behind the campground that are constantly busy all night long. Really really noisy. The trains did kind of drown out the police and ambulance sirens. The sites are close together and could be tight if you have a long rig and others in the area are long and stuck out. It's not the best area of town. Generally if you see something on Chef Menteur Hiway it's not a place you want to be walking around at night.
For NOLA I recommend any of the LA state parks. LA has very nice state parks. Water, electric and WiFi. No sewer hookups but dump stations. Very nice clean shower houses. Very well maintained facilities and grounds.
We have been thru St Bernard SP several times but haven't stayed there. We usually get into NOLA from the north or west so St Bernard is on the wrong side of the city for us.
We have stayed at Bayou Signette SP several times. Easy to get to from the west and not all that much traffic. Nice quiet campground.
On the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain are 2 state parks a few miles on either side of the causeway are 2 nice state parks. Fairview-Riverside SP to the west of the causeway and Fountainbleu SP to the east. Both very nice.
X2 on north shore of Lake Ponchartrain, a little ride but safer. - 2012ColemanExplorer IINorth Beach is a pretty nice place to stay, but there are residential sites there which can be irritating to some. The pool area was recently nicely upgraded, there are awesome restaurants to eat at on the intercoastal, good fishing as well. The Atlantic is right across the street. Did I mention full hookups and cable? The facilities are on the older side, but clean and well kept. Take flashlights for walking after dark - everything is in walking distance, but lots of people drive carts. The pull-thru sites are huge. We stayed at site 20 last time which is near the entrance, but you wouldn't know it. I try to get a spot on the same row.
Lots of people mention the sand - it's not a deal breaker. It certainly is not a dust bowl, and if you get it into your RV, that's on you. We stay there a few weeks each summer - drive from there to work. - loggenrockExplorerWe stayed at Jude a couple years back and thought it was just fine. Owners were nice and accommodating, shuttled us into the French Quarter and back. Few long-term sites, but those folks were not an issue. Very clean facilities. Can't say I recall any particular train noise - not enough to be memorable! I'd use them again if in the area. ST
