Parking directions are the DW's job & she does them well.
Correct on both. We've been guided to our site in many instances - that's fine. Even if the guide helps us back in to our site, DW still is on the 2-way radio. I listen to her and ignore the guide, and here's why - many years ago I was backing in to a site and, like a good soldier, was taking my cues from the guide. When we were all done our TT doorsteps led right down to a gigantic puddle. Mr. Guide didn't see anything wrong with that.
On edit: yes, I repositioned the TT without his "help." - TrlrboyExplorerNot ever.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIThey definitely do not expect tips. We've never heard of anyone doing this.
- mockturtleExplorer IICertainly not! :E They are doing it for their benefit, not yours. Nobody asks to be guided to a camp site.
- TerryallanExplorer IIAt Surfside Family CG on top Sail Island NC. they would not even let me back mine in. told me to drop it in front of the office, he then hooked a tractor to it, and put it on my site, and we leveled it before he unhooked. He would not take any money, Told me so up front. Plus it wasn't my choice, I didn't ask him to do it.
and you know. not one of you has offered me a tip because your passenger car took you to work, or shopping. But there is a really good chance, I made it move. Don't I deserve a tip for doing my job? - joebedfordNomad III been forced to follow at a number of parks. Often they will watch to make sure I don't damage their site(?) Sometimes they will try to direct me backing into a site - I have to get out of the truck and tell them to stop waving and shouting - it's very distracting and, of course, not helpful.
- mosseaterExplorer IINope. I figure it's all about their convenience anyhow. Big hassles ensue when folks end up in the wrong site sometimes. It would pay mangaement to make sure everyone gets to the right site just to avoid headaches later. I'm not paying them for something that they should do for their own benefit.
- dodge_guyExplorer IINo tip. If I can make it to a place 2000 miles away, I can make it through a campground on my own!
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIII'd just as soon they NOT guide me to site........point or give me CG map.
WE found the CG, WE can find the site and WE can get into it......all by ourselves.
TIPS........:S - garmpExplorer II"campsite concierge"? First off campgrounds do not have a "campsite concierge". Maybe in a RV park, but not a campground. Secondly, I've never been led to my "Campsite". Been told where to go many times, but never led.
