What you see in the picture above is the back side of the RoadTrip where the regulator used to be. The front side has a knob for each burner.
What do you do for temp/flame control after the grill regulator is gone?
Nice clean mod, I like it better that what I did on my old style RoadTrip. - SoundGuyExplorer

No one is talking about removing the grill's gas valve, just the regulator ... with grills like the Weber Q series the regulator simply screws off, with others not so easy because of the way the assembly is designed. The Road Trip I can't say because I've never owned one, nor would I when the Weber Q is such a great portable grill for camping. :B - C_SchomerExplorerWhat do you do for temp/flame control after the grill regulator is gone? - RVcircusExplorer III think we're going to do the same thing. I'm removing the stove with a QD fitting from the side of our trailer and want to move it over to our $25 Craigslist Coleman Roadtrip LX.

Can you post what you bought? I have been looking at doing this as well. - allenmExplorerI'm running my Coleman Roadtrip LX off my trailer's rear LP port. Works great. Had to remove the grill's regulator and install appropriate adapters. The trailer had a proprietary female connector that didn't quite match any male ends off the shelf. I ended up having to replace it with a matching pair of male/female connectors. Don't have a photo of that end.

I believe there is also an issue with the propane regulator setup... I have no idea what the difference are but hear there is something you have to do here as well...
The "difference" is that the RoadTrip, like most portable grills, is designed to work at tank pressure - i.e. 80 p.s.i. to as much as 200 p.s.i. That quick disconnect fitting to which the OP wants to connect this grill is LOW pressure - i.e. 11" water column or about 0.5 p.s.i. Obviously this won't work, the solution being to remove the grill's regulator so the low pressure you're feeding it via that quick disconnect fitting is being fed directly to the low pressure burner within the grill. Whether that's practical with a RoadTrip I can't say as I've never owned one but it's a very doable and popular mod with any Weber Q series gas grill. Personally I don't bother as I find it just as easy to feed my Weber Q120 with a stand alone 5 lb tank and my Coleman two burner stove with 16.4 oz canisters ... sometimes the K.I.S.S. method is the best method. :W - RoyBExplorer III believe there is also an issue with the propane regulator setup... I have no issues using the 1lb canisters with my ROADTRIP. I need to carry extra 1lb canisters anyway to support my back-up MR Buddy heat source. Having two different units using that uses them ensures me I always have some on hand when needed...
