2011 Keystone Raptor 3912 Velocity

I am considering a preowned 2011 3912 Keystone Raptor Velocity. The coach appears very clean but at the head of the master bedroom bed there appears to have been a slight water leak at one time or another. The particle board that the mattress sits on and at the top end of the board is where some water reached. There is no other evidence of water ending up anywhere else other than at the top part of the bed area. The walls and floor around the head of the bed looks fine with no issues. What i am wondering has there been any known issues with this coach in regards to this issue and or the master bedroom slide? The coach is like new and has never been damaged. We have owned a 2006 Raptor and the master bedroom slide design looks very similar. We just want to make sure there is no design issue that has been exposed that we don't know about. Any tip or thoughts on this issue and on this particular coach would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Frank
  • Is it possible that it could have been a spill and not a leak? I sat a glass of water on the nightstand and accidentally knocked it over. Luckily it hit the floor and not the bed, and was easily cleaned up.

The leak is most likely due to the slide itself. I would make sure the slide is aligned properly and no longer leaking. i would also make sure everything on the roof is good, water can travel inside the roof and run on framing to a low point. The framing is also aluminum, so no rot there.

We have the same camper, same year, same model, just not with the velocity package. We love it, and it has been good to us. The only issue we had was with a tire blowing and ripping the skirting off of the raptor. We just upgraded to 17.5 tires to get rid of that problem.

I am thinking there is no major issues and that the slide may need to just be adjusted. I was more concerned that there were structural issues with the coach. It does look like the same set up i had on my 2006 Raptor which means there are plenty of them out there working well with no problems. Are the slides easy to adjust if needed?

Is it just a water stain, or is it actual water damage. If it's just a stain, like stated above, it could be the slide seal, or possibly, the slide was pulled in during rain, and it just stained.

Look closer at it. If it appears to be just surface then there's not much to be concerned over. If it's got wood rot (for example, the paneling), then RUN!

It didn't appear to be wood rot and did look more like a water stain. There was no damage at all to the inside paneling or anywhere else in the master bedroom.
