2015 Keystone Cougar 334RDB monitor panel problem

I am new to this and called coachnet but was no help. My monitor panel is working for everything except my level monitor for battery, fresh, black and gray tanks. When I push the button nothing happens. The fuse to the panel (in fuse center 15a) is fine.

Any help on how to get this up and running again? I would take it back to dealer but I am using it for awhile and can't get back. I have had this thing for a week :/

  • When the sinks and showers don't drain the tank is full. Dump gray tanks. When you step on toilet lever and you can see last nights turd, the tank is full. Dump your black tank. Pretty easy. What's the problem?

Get gauges fixed when you return.
  • I thought Coachnet was a tow service. If you trailer is a 2015 I would think you would have better response from either the dealer or the factory. I would start there. Good luck, John
  • I have a 2013 cougar it had the monitor panel and we had problems with it that we would have to reboot it allot of times because it would not respond. We brought it back to dealer and they replaced it with a panel with toggle switches and had no problem since.
  • I see that your rig is a 2015 model, is it possible to return to dealer and have replaced/repaired under warranty?

The monitor panel is only an estimate of conditions, a =rough= estimate. Most accurate thing to do is to get a digital monitor and go direct to the battery(ies). A great resource article is "The 12v Side of Life"; part 1 is here and part 2 is here. You should also get a 110v meter to monitor the coach voltage when on shore power. You can get an inexpensive one that simply plugs into an outlet. LOW voltage is more damaging than high voltage, in most cases. A lot of people use either a surge protector (good ones will cut off =low= voltage as well as high) or a line conditioner.

Lyle, I understand they are only rough estimates. My issue is that they have no estimates when they won't light up.

The first thing I would do, as suggested above, is check the battery voltage at the batteries.

If batteries indicate good voltage then I would remove the monitor panel and check if there is 12v power to the panel.

Don't know why you called Coach-Net, they're an emergency road service company.

Chances are you're panel does not have the 12v power connected. Loose wire a possible problem also.

Coachnet offers technical assistance according to the documentation I have. I will remove the panel and check. Battery voltage is fine, I am hooked to 30A power as well and there is nothing. Please note it is only the tank monitors and battery level portion of the panel not working.
  • I had a somewhat similar problem where most of the lower panel buttons failed to work. The ultimate fix was to get the panel replaced under warranty but to get me through the day I was told to disconnect shore power, disconnect the battery, then reconnect the battery, then reconnect shore power. The panel would work again, usually until I disconnected the shore power again. Hope that helps.
