- L_MMusicExplorereaherrmann -- WOW! How lucky can you get?! You must eat Lucky Charms for breakfast.
M GO BLUE -- Sorry, no ideas on storage for bigger/more batteries-- maybe solar panels is the way to go -- if so, hope you get a lot of sunshine! - eaherrmannExplorerHope everyone is doing well. The lack of additions to this link tells me everyone is on the road and enjoying thier campers. The DW and I are burning through diesel like it's free :( but that's life. I've always said, if you get good service tell 10 people..... On one of our many trips this summer we got detoured by a closed bridge and wound up going through a "construction zone". When we rounded a sharp right turn I didn't see a 4' hole in the road and I drove "through" it with the 5vr. The image in the rear view was horrifying as I see it slew sidesways at better than a 60 degree angle, luckily I had enough momentum to pull out of it. After the DW and I calmed down we went out to check the damage. The only thing I could see is scarring on both tires and the Mor Ryde setup was scraped up, no major damage. The inside was a bit shook up as well, but no damage there either Lucky for me. When we finally made it to the campground later that day is when I found what I broke. When unhooking the 5vr I noticed I couldn't get the jaws to open on the hitch. After some raising and banging it came free. Upon inspecting the hitch I discovered this.........

Now I'm in hot water with the DW once again. Luckily we were in place for the next 2 weeks so we had time to get it fixed.
Which brings me to the reason for this post
One call to B&W technical support and the new parts were sent out FEDEX 2day directly to our campsite (during the week of the 4th of July)
The tech explained to me that the supports are made to give in the event something causes the camper to roll over.
Total Cost? $0.00
"Thank You for being a customer, have a good day."
Now that's service!
And yes, now the DW REALLY side seat drives
Looking forward to everyone's adventures...may be time to start a new link. - M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerOk everyone I need your help / suggestions / advice:
I want to replace my two 12V batteries with four 6V batteries (two at the very least) but as most of you know the existing battery compartment is small and only can fit two 12V batteries (and no the 6v batteries are too tall and too wide to fit into the existing battery trays).
My long-term plan is to eventually, if not now, get four 6V batteries to fit for an inverter and/or installation of solar panels.
So the question is any ideas where I might find extra room and/or how can I fit four 6V batteries into the Designer? Remember I have the built-in generator so the front compartment is out and the pass-thru compartment is about 2/3 full...any ideas? suggestions? advice? - ccm14ExplorerI have a question about using a Baby Weber 100 BBQ. We have a 2008 Jayco 34RLQS which has a propane outlet in the rear of the unit that ties into the forward propane tanks. Using this outlet would prevent the need to use disposable bottles or auxiliary a auxiliary tank for the BBQ. Now my question. Can I hook my Weber to this outlet? The outlet has a quick disconnect coupling. What type of hose and connections will I need to go between the Weber and the trailer outlet? I have researched this subject and am confused. Seems there are high and low pressure propane hoses. Which do I need? Will it be a problem getting a connector to go between the Weber and the hose?
Any information you can offer will be greatly appreciated. - ccm14ExplorerHello,
We have a 2008 Jayco 34RLQS and want to add a hard wired surge protector. Leaning towards a Progressive Industries unit with display. My RV tech said he did not know if the unit will fit in the trailer. Have any of you installed this type of supressor in your Jayco 5er?
Thanks - cruzExplorernope ... no remote on the 2nd A/C. Would be handy to have though !!!
CRUZ - RL_MillerExplorerIf Jayco went to I-Beam frame the one I own now is my last Jayco !!! I have owned 4 Jaycos and one of the main reasons I bought Jayco was the strong frame !!
Rich Miller - Rough2000ExplorerCRUZ,
I met with the dealer this am and we are going with the Carrier LP unit. It is going to cost me a little more but he is going to have to take out the Coleman unit and install the Carrier. I guess he will then put the Coleman unit in one of the popups he has for sale. He has been great to work with. The AC unit I am getting has the remote control, did you happen to get that option? You know how us guys love our remotes...I'll be able to drive the wife crazy...turn the fan up, turn the fan down, turn the fan on, turn the fan off, repeat, repeat, repeat.:B - Rough2000ExplorerCHV_FRK,
The 2008 had two stacked retangular tubes and the 2009 frame is an I-Beam. One of the main changes the made was installing a docking station for elect/water/sewer. I believe that maybe some improvement over the small valves that you have to turn to change functions.
I also like the flat floor in the doghouse, that may have been the reason for the additional height of the unit??? For the most part, not a lot of changes between the 2008 and 2009. I would have gotton a 2008 off the dealers yard if they would have had one with most of the options we wanted, and not a lot that we did not want. What changes did you see on the 09 that you didn't care for? Now don't mention anything major and disappoint me!:B - CHV_FRKExplorer2007dura
There is an insulated board in between the supply and return side with kind of a weatherstrip like foam around it. I've pulled and pushed the foam a little on each one to really seal them. To the sides of that there is a frame. On the outer sides of the frame it is sealed with foam. There are a few spots of foam that I need to re-seal. I would just get a small can of low expanding foam. That should fix any major outer leaks and the inside can be adjusted with the foam.
