- rattleNsmokeExplorerJust drain them all the way out. No reason to keep any fluid in there over the winter.
- Buckeye_ChuckExplorerThanks for the replies. I opened them just enough to see if pink stuff came out. It did so I tightened them back up.
- MFLNomad IIChuck, at this point, I would just put a bucket under the low point drains, and open them. Any water in them will come out, as well as pink, from the other lines.
I always drain my low points, when done with winterizing, but not really necessary.
Jerry - korbeExplorerMy low point drain lines are visible from one of my storage compartments and they do fill with the pink stuff even though I do not open them like a faucet. However, they are the last valves I close prior to pumping the pink stuff.
- chevyman2ExplorerYou should be fine as long as you let the faucets run till you had a good "pink" flow. You could always open the low points now. I do. It will not hurt to have as little fluid as possible in those lines. Especially in MI. The more room you have in the lines for fluid to flow, the better you will be.
- powderman426ExplorerI would loosen the caps till I saw pink as the water would be at the bottom. Just to be safe. Its not that much trouble to be safe. Jmo
- K_CharlesExplorerOur last camper hat valves for the low point drain so no water in the lines. Present camper has caps on the end so lines are full.
- leggyExplorerThe shut offs on my lowpoint drains are broken and I winterized last year with out any issue at all, so I would guess that you will be fine.
- midnightsadieExplorer III open mine.some water could be in the system and dilute the anti freeze.
