Trying to install window film insulation in 5th wheel

I want to install some window film on my windows because I have excessive condensation but the problem I have is that I cannot cover the entire window because I cannot remove any of the window treatments or shades to access the top of the window frame or wall. I though I might try just the bottom half that has the screen facing the inside, they were covered in mold on the inside and I had to clean everything out. Unfortunately the window frames are rounded corners and I am just lost as to where I put the double seal tape or how to get it around the corners? The only other option I can think of is to remove the screens?
I included a photo for reference

After living in a 27' RK with a super slide for one winter I would agree. However there wasn't just one thing that will stopped our condensation problem.

I made inside storm windows from 1/8" Lexan over all eleven windows in the trailer. This was a big help with stopping cold from the windows......but still a condensation problem.

I also added mobilehome skirting and was another big plus in felling a warmer floor.....but no help with condensation

We tried all the opening vents and windows.....and ran several fans but all that did was make a cold drafty camper especially with 30-40 mph winds and single digit temps.

Finally we bought two dehumidifiers which ended our big battle with condensation.

The film may stop draft problems and may help make the camper warmer feeling but if your living full time and its COLD then your gonna' need help getting rid of condensation.

I believe the OP is referring to shrink wrap film attached to the frame, not window tint film.
  • The easiest way to reduce the condensation issue is to leave the ceiling vents open about 1/2" all the time. This will greatly reduce the moisture in the RV and any heat loss will not be noticed. Also ensure your using the stove exhaust fan any time you're cooking.
  • You grab the bundled up shade with both hands and push up a bit and twist the bottom of the share away from the window to release them. To install you hook the top corner near you and twist the bottom towards the window.

This is the corrrect answer, window film will not change the temp difference inside/outside.
  • Isn't there a possibility that putting film on the inside will allow the glass to heat up too much in the summer? Or is it just single pane glass.
If double pane what about putting the film on the outside so it cuts down the heat B4 it gets to the glass.
  • Window film is not going to solve the condensation problem. Try running a dehumidifier.

I think if you will look up inside the cornice board you will find they are held on by L shaped brackets. You can get a long (18 inch or so) screwdriver at Harbor Freight to get them off. That is what I had to do to fix our day/night shades several times.

I agree, there will be L brackets on the sides and top. Then in the upper inside corners there will be a single screw holding the side cover to the top cover. With fabric covers removed, the shade can then be removed. Had to do this earlier in the year to restring several shades.
