I think they should extend you out past the Elite membership period. You get 3 years elite with the purhchase. I think your regular membership should restart and finish out the day your elite membership runs out.
I'm a life member. When we bought our Class C last year, we were "upgraded" to Elite. We were told that once the elite runs out, then we will be back to life membership.
