No Help Until Monday
So here I sit, the trusting sole that keeps giving Good Sam/Camping World another chance. For history, feel free to look at my prior post history and the issue with someone living in my brand coach while in for warranty service at Camping World of Golden CO. I have given Marcus and his team another chance to keep me as a customer and again epic fail on their part.
We renewed our Road Side assistance for the 3 straight year even though we had never used it in the past. Today we needed the service because we have a flat on the left rear outer tire. The tire has picked up a nail in the tread. The good news is we are not stranded on the side of the road, we are now home with plans to leave again on Monday. So I called GS Roadside assistance. They informed me that I have to purchase a tire because they do not offer the option to have a tire repaired (the tire only has 7000 miles on it). I agreed to purchase a tire with the intent of keeping the old, having it repaired and carrying it in a basement storage as a spare for just such an emergency. I waited on the phone for an hour while the person in dispatch tried to find a roadside service company to come out that had a tire.
Now my RV is a 2013 Thor Outlaw, so it should have a very common tire/size. I was told that because it is a weekend, he could not find a tire service company in network, and that I should call around and find a place myself and send in the bill for the roadside call. I called around and was given an estimate of 4 hours of travel time/labor for the service call plus labor to change the tire/tire purchase etc... The service call was going to be $480 alone! Now it is not like I am in the middle of nowhere, I am in the south Denver metro area. I decided to call Good Sam Road Side back to ensure that they would cover the cost.... No way! I was told that I have to wait until Monday and to call back then. I asked for a manager and was told the same. The manager, Carlos then told me that the 24/7/365 only entitled me to someone that would answer the phone and nothing more.
Clearly Marcus must be to busy with his TV show to run his business the way he advertises. In my past issue, Marcus never responded. Randy Rahe one of Marcus's VP's helped out. In this case, I expect a direct contact from Marcus.
So here we sit getting ready to cancel our trip again...
