I told him I would not give anyone my credit card number over the phone especially since I did not initiate the call. He persisted and after telling him two more times, I hung up the phone.
My question to the ERS team is simple. Was this a scam or do you really do business in this manner?

The Good Sam Club does have a team of agents that will "dial out" to members with a membership coming up for renewal in the same month. This team has access to special offers such as the one presented to you for $69(14 or 15 months I believe).
The offer and phone call was a legitimate call from Good Sam.
In regards to the credit card; Good Sam representatives have access to your payment history, but for security purposes, they do not have access to the entire credit card number. The reason the agent requested your full credit card number to process the promotional rate was because they/anyone at Good Sam can never just pull your credit card # up from your payment history and charge it.
