1998 Newell and newer Monaco and Country Coach?

Everyone of the coaches you are considering is a winner, including the Newell....you need to look at each one for condition, and floor plan..The diesels in the newer models might do better the ULSD fuel as some earlier Cummins motors would have lift seal problems as ULSD is less of lubricant than the diesel fuels of the late 90's....Drive and examine then decide, you couldn't pick any better of a selection.

You are comparing a Newell with no slide outs, which is a highline motor home, to middle of the product line rigs with slideouts.

A more fair comparison would be a Monaco Signature or Country Coach Affinity compared to the Newell. Then the differences could be more subjective.

The Camelot and Scepter would compare favorably to the Country Coach Allure or Intrigue.

With your condition caveats, yes, the four coaches could provide the same service.

Which one will be cheaper will be the luck of the draw, but I would bet on the Foretravel. Given the original cost of the Newell it is possible that the original owner had additional money to spend on maintenance.

However, if you decided you needed the room provided by slide outs, selling the Newell and buying another rig could be the more expensive route?

Ooops, my bad! The write up states two slides.

I didn't know the Newell didn't have slides. The write up said it has 2.

The only thing I can say about the Country Coach is to check and see if it has had the wet PTO install, that is a must or have the PTO greased every year. Check the radiator because a lot of coaches the radiator start to leak, not only Country Coach. All being 2006 and if any have the Cummins check the S/N because of bad wrist pins, here is the info.

I know that Newell has been there for over a year.

If the Newell does not have slides than I'm really amazed at the price and frankly how good the coach looks inside and out. But it's been there for a year you say? That makes it a "cash coach" chasing off anyone needing to finance right?

Mondooker, there are two '98 Newell's on the site.... a 42 ft. and a 45 ft. Both have slides as you can see them in the interior pictures. Usually when you click on the pics, they show the whole coach with the slides out/in and all the bay doors open.

For some reason, on the red/gold 45 ft. Newell, they don't show outside pics with the slides open. But, you can see it has one in the living room from the interior pics.

Both Newell's look nice. If you don't like red carpet in the white 42 ft., a wood floor would be sharp looking.

MOT is where we consigned our Dynasty last summer.... sold in three months, they were very nice to work with.

Thanks Mr.Mark, I thought the interior shots showed a slide in the bedroom as well. Love the paint job, sharp!

Having looked at them:
Pass on the 06 Camelot. Overpriced and has the windshield/front cap problems. May have been fixed if the extra front cap supports were added.
The 06 HR Sceptor, much the same as a Dynasty would need new tires at that price if not new. I would not want a NoCold 1200 in a slide.
I would not pay $20K more for the CC over the HR.
The Newells are mid entry, not my preference but they do have my favorite engine... DD60. They tend to be very heavy and until several years ago when the axle weight for RVs was increased to 24K... over weight on the drive axle.
I would add Foretravel to the names to look at. Many have taken older ones back to the factor for a interior rebuild, even adding slides.

No I would not pay $10K more for a 8 year older MH with 90K more miles than the HR.
