Ac questions, how cold, how much freon.. Ect?

I bypassed the evaporator temp switch so my compressor runs all of the time when AC selected. Out west I rarely have to shut the AC off to melt the ice buildup which slows the flow of air. Even on hot days I rarely have to crank the generator to run the roof units.

To recharge that system it is best to pull a vacuum on the system through the front set of both ports for over 1 hour. Then close off the valves on the A/C gauges and let it set for 1/2 hour, note if the vacuum indicated on the gauges starts to bleed off. If so you have a leak, if not then charge the system with 2.2 lbs. of Freon that has dye in it. Your vent temp should be around 50 degrees with ambient air temp of 80 degrees and the coach not being in direct sunlight.

If it's putting out some cool air then one can max. Are you sure your heater valve is shutting off completely?

Anyone ever put guage in dash vent?
I know in dealing with cars, on recirculation you can get 40 degrees. Just wondering difference if any motorhome has with dash temp.

R134 is good.
FleetPride sells 30lb for $70.
I think due to the length of the lines you have dual valves, but it doesn't matter wchich one you use.
Do you know recommended pressure for charging?

It has high and low pressure valves on the compressor in rear, but also has a set up front a high and low there also. We charge with 134a.....

You can charge by suction pressure only.
Do you have ports on your AC system? When I lost charge on RV AC I had to add tap valve for service.
Did the same with refrigerator.
Read the label carefully what refrigerant it has. Making a mistake here can be a disaster.
Low pressure piping is several times bigger than high side, so it easy to tell.

I work at a car dealer service and know a good amount about stuff. I have several ac machines and a good general tech helping me. But looks like you can charge on the rear, or the front, does it matter? It's got a side radiator and condenser with no ac sticker.
