Hey everyone, we are looking at 3 used DP. They all have comparable miles. First is a 2004 Windsor for 100k pretty well loaded, 40pdq. Second is a 2004 CC Allure 3 slide with tag axle for about 120k. Third but no least is a 2008 HR Imperial 4 slide 45 ft for about 175k. They all sound great and we know they are all well built. We have not been able to see any of them yet due to they are not nearby. Looking for in put on which may be the best bang for the buck and ROI. It looks like units take another drop in value at about the 12 year mark, has anyone else noticed that? Looking forward to everyone's opinions One other thing, all by owners not dealers and we have already sold our 5r. Thanks.

Of course, many people found out that real estate can go down also. We sold our house and moved into our coach 7 years ago and we have never been sorry. The Imperial is the class of this field and the most expensive. You need to drive these coaches and then you will know. There is no other way. Good luck & enjoy the search.

Save a step and some money by ruling out the non tag unit. How is that saving money... you'll end up with a tag axle coach so do not do it like I did in two steps$$$. Does the Imperial have a Cummins ISL 425 HP? The CC will have a softer ride, but the Imperial will handle curvy roads better.

To Steve, I understand what you are saying on the ROI, what I am trying to determine is which unit is the best bang. I know it depends on the economy also.Ivylog, thanks for the advise. Any thoughts on thr 4 year newer plus 1 extra slide, and 5 extra feet on the tag units, other than the ride? The Imperial has the 425 Cummins.

Dick and Connie, just from your description, the 2008 HR Imperial seems to be nice, also, it's newer which should have the new TV's. It may also have the particulate filter which has not given us one iota of a problem in 65,700 miles of driving.The one thing that will be the 'kicker' are the maintenance records for all the coaches and tire date codes. Interesting the 12 year hit. I think I noticed that too, that would put a 2002 model taking a bigger hit. What I noticed from 1999 it take a bigger hit, like it is in the previous century.I am trying to find the best year to buy. If I buy a 2002 or a 2006. The 2002 seems to hang in there but it will take a hit a few years after. The 2006 still has some years to go before it takes the next plunge.

Dick, glad to see that one of the units has popped to the top of the list. I'm not surprised that the Imperial won you over. It sounded nice from your description.

A friend of mine here in California just bought a '08 Imperial with 12,000 miles, four slides, 45 ft., 500 hp Cummins. I haven't seen it yet but he sure is excited. The pic looked good.

Well, the Windsor was nice and so was the Country Coach. It's like some of you said, what feels right is what to go with. The Imperial feels right, so that is the one. Thanks for all the advice and comments. I know they are fine coaches, it came down to the layout and options on the Imperial. I hope to meet some of you when I get out there on the road. Thanks again.

we just bought an 08 hr imperial and we love it. our trade was a beaver and just thought we loved it. the hr is 42 ft. tag 425 cummins and loaded. weve hade it 3 weeks and have put 2,000 miles on it. ours shows 7.6 mpg at 65 with no trailer. we have been dragging a trailer some in mo,ok, with car in a 25 ft trailer and still averaged 6.2 hope you enjoy as much as we do ours mike

Yep, I get all of these will depreciate. I am trying to be informed on the decision and pick quality and layout of the unit. I am learning about dp's, so I want to have all the information I can. Thanks for your comment.

we just looked at the Imperial it's a beautiful unit, it's in excellent shape. it was fully optioned out. Maintenance has been kept up on the unit also. the plan is to look at the country coach and monaco next weekend. we appreciate all the info thanks everyone. we will keep you all informed.

Country Coach, Travel Supreme, Alpine would be on my short list of DP's! I just like the craftmanship that goes into these three coaches!

Go for the Country Coach. They make their own frames and they are only used on CC's. Better built; top notch tech support; and all around better coach. I bought ours 13 years ago and mighty glad I did get a CC.
