I have a 1998 Roadtrek 190P which houses the sewer dump fitting in the large storage compartment along with the city water hookup and fresh water hose storage, outdoor shower, and the electrical power cord. It is the only external storage area on the van. Is it just me or does this seem really unsanitary to put anything sewer related in with your clean water hose/connection? Has anyone come up with a better storage solution for your dump fitting?Thanks

Most class A's are like that that I have seen and some of the class C's.To me it's not nearly as bad as touching a table, slat, pepper, or what ever before picking up my bread.

It's a bad and unsanitary idea to store your waste hoses along with your potable water hoses. Get a small bucket or clear Sterite type Bin w/ a lockable lid.WoodGlue

On our 1996 Dodge RT we used to store the fitting in a small plastic bucket with a lid. The bucket originally contained material for repairing drywall or something like that. It was about one gallon size. No doubt you can find something of that nature in a hardware store. Ours was round, but a square or rectangular one would be a better fit.

I carry a small refillable spray bottle with a mix of bleach and water in it. That way you can spray fresh water connections before you connect to them. YOU may be careful about being clean and not handling fresh water hoses/connections, but was the guy on the site BEFORE you that concerned when they were UNHOOKING to leave??? Just sayin'... ST

To help protect your fresh water hose, after coiling it up and screw the ends together to help prevent contamination. Helps with keeping it more secure also, the note about washing your hands before/after touching the water hose and sewer connections is good. We keep a container of sanitary wipes handy to use after doing all the stuff and before getting back in the unit and handling the steering wheel etc.

Excellent suggestion and we do the same but mix the bleach and water before each use. We contacted Clorox and asked how long the mix is good for and they said within a day it is no longer effective and to mix new.
