k8devin, even if the tanks are empty, when you are hooked up to a water source, in most motorhomes, it bypasses the tanks and the water flows directly to your faucets. The tanks are only filled from the fill point outside the motorhome. This is where you have a small door that you unlock and insert the end of the water hose and let water flow in until you determine the tanks is full. Since you did not say if you are indeed connected via a hose to a water source like a spigot, I have to assume that is what might be causing the leak because it would create a constant flow of water into the motorhome, which would occur irrespective of whether the tanks are empty, or half empty, or full.
I think most newer MHs have a valve that switches to fill the tank and the hookup is the same position for everything. I haven't had a separate spot for filling from a hose since my '76 Fireball.
My 2015 Winnebago View Profile has both a gravity fill for the fresh water tank along with the valve to fill it while it is hooked to my city water hookup. I would think Bobbo has the same setup as I do on mine.
To the OP, I would take my rig to a dump site and empty both the black and grey tanks before I tackled anything else. The readings on tank monitors are known to be off especially after a rig has been used for a period of time. At best they are somewhat accurate when new. - ksg5000ExplorerYou might be able to rule out leak in plumbing by disconnecting shore power and using internal water -- if water pump periodically turns on when the taps are closed then you have a leak in the FW plumbing system.
- DougEExplorerKeep it simple. Open the flush valve and look inside (flashlight?). It should be obvious if the level of the black tank is too high. More than likely though, the water connection on the toilet has worked loose with time and is leaking (or the sink faucet nearby). Not an unusual occurrence.
- cgmartineExplorerBobbo, if you only have a gravity fill, how do you hook up to a water source when at a campground? Do you stand there and hold the hose each and every time you have to fill the tank? Kind of tedious, I would think! On my 2008 Tioga, and on a 1994 class C I had, both had gravity fill spouts, plus a hose coupler. That is why the sell the pressure regulators, so you can leave the hose connected to the water source.

And yet my 2007 Winnebago has a gravity fill opening, but no way to fill from the shore water inlet. This one is an assumption that it is not safe to make.
To the OP, until you find the source of the water, nothing is going to work but a mop. - bsinmichExplorer

Can you tell if it is water from the black tank by its appearance and or smell? Is your shower overflowing?
If none of the above, you probably have a leak in the fresh water system. - Sprink-FitterExplorer

He said his black and grey tanks were not full, not his freshwater tank. - cgmartineExplorerk8devin, even if the tanks are empty, when you are hooked up to a water source, in most motorhomes, it bypasses the tanks and the water flows directly to your faucets. Hmm..well, my monitors are telling me the tanks (both black and grey) are only 1/2 full..wouldn't they be showing as full if this was a leaking issue?
Many RV tank monitors are unreliable. See if emptying your tanks helps.
