- wa8yxmExplorer IIIIF the tire is NOT on a rim you have to store it "Sealed" or Indoor" else it will collect all types of **** and rot out from moisture.
Once you have the tire "Sealed" against elements (Shrink wrapped???) there is a company or 3 that make slings to carry it UNDER the RV
Else I'd store it inside
Sunlight is another enemy of spare tire.
How I do it.. Carry spare credit card. - Monkeyman_and_LExplorerThe rig has a rear kitchen, between the frame rails I've got a grey tank.
going in the toad for now. I am considering a bracket on my ACME tow dolly that would carry it at an angle. That would allow for the toad to pull up and keep the area clear for turns.
Gotta cadwork this one out. - Dale_TravelingExplorer IIFor a coach built on a Ford F53, under the coach, between the frame rails, behind the fuel tank.

The area under the lift up queen bed (has gas struts to hold it open) is perfect fit, wrap it in an old sheet roll it up the stairs down the hall and a little lift into the compartment...nothing to it.
Look around at what you've got, think outside the box.
That is where we carried our spare. We wrapped the spare in shrink wrap plastic so that there was no rubber smell from it. We could store extra stuff in the center of the tire as well - worked great and was very manageable. - Teacher_s_PetExplorerHave carried an unmounted 22.5" spare since 2006. Haul it in the back of our toad. First in our our Sport Trac and now our Flex. It hides under a platform I built in the rear area, with other items on top, when we park for the winter in Texas it comes out and is put in our shed at our Texas RV Lot. You might it think it would take up to much room, but inside the tire, which I haven't needed since acquiring, I store similar items seldom used but a life saver when needed. Our 50' amp cord (which is used maybe twice a year), our 75' 3/4" macerator hose (used less than once a year),three different draw bars for the hitch on the toads and a set of magnetic towing lights in case the wiring fails on the toad.
- 77rollalongExplorersome of the highway Busses mount a spare behind the front bumper
- DSDP_DonExplorerMonkeyman....Yo can buy a steel wheel for your spare and it will fit all three positions, front, outside dual and inside dual, without issue. If you have space under the coach, you can make an arm that bolts/pivots on one side, slide the spare over the arm, use a floor jack and bolt the other side of the arm to the frame. Many have done this under their coach when the frame is an open type.

- Monkeyman_and_LExplorermccsix,
I'd like to see how you did that. One of the options I'm considering is underneath the coach.
Wait, you meant the BED. as in under bed storage. Nope. No help. The slider mechanism gets in the way. It's also where the folding chairs store for the dinette.
