The original Mach 8's had a loud roar when the compressor was on. That was eliminated over a year ago with a 3 blade condenser fan blade. The Mach 8 has a separate motor for the condenser fan. The recent problem has been the condenser motor mount screws back off and the motor comes loose and breaks the fan blade and 1 or more of the rubber motor mount feet. THAT problem was corrected in production on July 1st 2015. Previous built units may have that problem, but not all do. The fix is to use Locktite to secure the motor mount feet screws. Current production, they use the locktite. The Tiffin owners group will be referencing the year ago noise problem. The Mach 8 cools great. Doug

I spend time in 105-110 degree temps. That is why I am looking to change. - JumboJetExplorerI installed a Mach 8 15K A/C in May in addition to a 13.5K A/C on a 31' Hurricane. The Mach 8 15K is doing very good. Almost don't need the 13.5K unit unless the temperature is above 90F.
- GMandJMExplorerThere's been discussion about the Mach8's failing, but I'm not sure it's really moreso than with other brands/models. They can be noisy. Apparently, there are replacement blades (D-blades) that help.
If you've not already done so, you might wander over to TRVN and ask for advice/opinions from fellow Tiffin owners.
