Haven't done the power cord thing YET" but ran over one of my jack pads yesterday leaving the house for a fuel up. Bad thing about it was, the wife was standing in the yard watching me. Have to remember to put those away when I'm done with them.

Once at a camp ground in my first year having a MH. Nice long campsite, thought I'd pull ahead and park the toad behind to make hooking up easier. Only bent a couple of pins.
Now have a clip on the steering wheel (girls hair clips with springs), one for the slides, one for the power, one for the water etc.

Works great.

Actually put it in gear and started to move forward when I spotted the connection in my mirror! I too walk around while waiting for the jacks to come up. Just got distracted and missed the electric cord. DW was off to the side out front watching my clearance of a tree and I glanced back at the mirror to double check. I also stop and look back at the site once I am clear to be sure I haven't left a chair or something behind.

The longer we have stayed put the more careful we are about getting clear.

This is the secret. It won't help with forgetting things inside but it practically guarantees that there will be no problems with hookups, antennas, slide outs, awnings, jacks, forgotten items, etc.

Glad to hear no harm was done. I'm always nervous when I start to think I'm too smart to make a mistake. It's the kiss of death.

I have done it twice.
the first time it pulled the cord out of the junction box (the rear tire ran over it), and I just had to reinstall it.
The second time I didn't run over it, but drug it five miles to town. I had to replace it. The RV parts store I went to didn't have the correct 30 amp cord, but they had an extension cord that worked nicely.
The 10 gauge wire from the old cord worked great to wire the power and brake line to the 7-pin trailer connector on the truck!
