If you don't have the instructions, they are probably available from the manufacturer's website.
Good luck. magicbus wrote:
The Winnebago Class B units have a combination gas burner and electric element furnace that you can use when on 30A instead of burning gas. I don't think they offer that in larger models.

Correct, B van units use a Truma system that will furnace in both 120 and LP if needed, Due to the Size of the Truma, and its BTU rating, you will only see it in B vans and not the B Plus vans. Furnace uses 12 volt for control and blowers.. Propane for heat.> Now you can add a 'Cheap heat' system if you wish (Do not think it is worth it) this is an electric heater.. Instead I added a pair of heavy duth (15/20 amp) Duplex outlets (one to a circuit breaker. 12ga wire) for electric space heaters. Do not recommend plugging them into existing 15 amp RV outlets That's too much load for that type of outlet (15 amp house outlet ok but not the "Uini Box jobs in RVs).
Water heater.. Some run on Propane only (From factory) some on your choice. some ccan run on BOTH (Atwood) at the same time for faster recovery. On Atwood you normally have two switches mine are marked Elec and Gas. sometimes it's an icon of a flame and a lightening bolt with a FAULT light between them.
On Surburan there is a switch.. I think outside in the WH compartment but since I don't have one I'm nto sure.. And this only applies if electric IS an option.
Don't have electric? HOTT ROD from any decernt RV store will add it.
Fridges come in basically 3 flavors for this post
Residential (120 vac only)
RV 1: 120 volt with 12 volt controls and gas with 12 volt controls
RV 2 (rare) same as above with with a 12 volt for heat as well as control option.
Does this help? - magicbusExplorer IIThe Winnebago Class B units have a combination gas burner and electric element furnace that you can use when on 30A instead of burning gas. I don't think they offer that in larger models.

It is my understanding the furnace is LP and the blower runs off the battery?
That's correct, and the controls also run off the battery (12-volts).
Usually the thermostat also uses 12 volts.- AllegroDNomadTo be clear (as mud), the furnace only uses LP and 12v - but - if you have a heat pump in a 15k AC, you will have 'Elec Heat' on the thermostat. If set to 'Elec Heat', the heat pump works until the temp goes below 40F or the temp drops more than 5 degrees difference from the temp setting, then the gas furnace kicks in.
- LadyRVerExplorer IIThank you, Dutch 12078....
- MrWizardModeratorthings work a lot like your stick house
thermostat on the wall in the stick house uses 28v, that comes from the furnace
120v for the blower, and 'GAS' for the heat
in the RV it is 12v for the stat, 12v for the blower and 'LP GAS' for the heat
your home fridge has 'electronics' and electric compressor
RV fridge 12v electronics and LP or 120v to create the cooling, unless you have a 120v residential fridge, which is getting very common - Isaac-1ExplorerThe thing to remember here is that the control electronics in the water heater and in the refrigerator while they are running on propane draw very little power. On an RV with a pair of deep cycle house batteries, the refrigerator can probably run for a week or more on propane without depleting the batteries, however the propane furnace blower fan could drain those same battery down over just one cold night.
