Ok, so I'll say it. Because in my case it is true. I'm with Alfa (Alabama Farmers Association). Been with them since 96. Last year I shopped around some (not to everyone). USAA, which I am a member of, was shocked when Alfa's price beat them, and they couldn't match. It wasn't by a lot.. maybe 10-15 dollars, but they still beat 'em. Likewise, when I refinanced my house with Quicken, they tried to get me to swap insurance companies. I got quotes from them, and Alfa was lower.
My son (under my policy) had two claims, one his fault, one not. Wife had one, not her fault, and I had one accident, not my fault, over the past 19 years. Rates are still very competitive. I can't say they are the LOWEST, but when I did venture out and look, they were.
Im paying 217 per year for the new RV I just bought. Again, maybe not the totally lowest, but very competitive from what I've seen others say they are paying.
I do think though, based on my previous experiences, that my experience is not the norm.
