furnace runs but little air from vents

Had a winnebago journey with the same problem you can remove registers as far front and back, stick a light source down one end and with mirror look down from the opposite end to see if you can see the light. If so the duct is clear. If not need to find out what may be in the way. Mine was clear and it just did not have much air coming out. I was further advised to not add or close any registers that winnebago did not not provide. This was all from winnebago consultant. Also to get the best chance to stay warm in front make sure the dash heating controls are set to "OFF" or "MAX AIR". This is the only two settings that close off completely to shut out outside air. My opinion only is that winnebago has a problem heating the front of the coach with the gas furnace.

Great idea of picture. I will do that. I am going to double check the fan while furnace is off. I think so but there has been other noise so am going to make sure. Process of elimination. Thank you everyone.

For a quick fix on the road I'd find the closest vent to the furnace and check for pressuRe there. Also stick a cell phone in the vent and take a picture to see a possible blockage or leak. I assume the fan is running? You could hear that

I didn't need it when I got it last spring. This winter it has never really performed to my expectation. I am getting heat through the ducks that run down the center of the coach as I feel it in the floor. Bedroom and bathroom heat as they are closest to furnace but all the heat seems to be gravity and not forced. A little heat rising out of registers but not forced through. I had to have a new circuit board installed in furnace when I began to use it this fall and furnace ran and worked ok. Couldn't really tell about vents as they were mostly covered by the slides. Another thing if I were not traveling the dealer would be dealing with.

I thought ours wasn't working as well as it could so I had a heating tech come out. He checked the air flow and said it was well within spec, even for a stick house. It had just been bloody cold outside!

RV furnaces do not have filters.......discharge into a plenum with multiple dusts attached that run to various floor registers. Then return air goes back to furnace cabinet.....sometimes via a louvered vent, sometimes just via open areas/access behind cabinets/drawers.


Check the furnace discharge plenum....are all hoses connected (flex hoses..duct)
Then remove each floor register and check them for obstructions.

Make sure your filter is clean and your wife hasn't put something in front of the cold air return (usually on a vertical surface). I found found some throw pillows against ours once.

I installed adjustable vents ... in my case just closing down one vent which was nearest the furnace allowed the rest of the coach to get decent air flow.
