I have had CoachNet for years, and recommended it to my father when he bought his first motorhome last year. He just paid for his annual membership recently. 5 days ago he traded in his Palazzo motorhome for a new 2014 Entegra Anthem. He was driving it home today from Colorado to Utah when he blew a front tire (just over 2,000 miles on the new Michelin tires, pressure at 120psi cold with tire pressure monitoring system and no warning prior to blow out. Major damage to front and side of coach). He called CoachNet and they are denying coverage because he got his Motorhome at a Camping World dealership. Coach Net says they don't have a contract with Camping World. I called Coach Net to try to help since he is stranded on I-80 and it was starting to get dark and he needed to get stuff into the Jeep before dark. I eventually got on the phone with a "supervisor" who told me the same thing - they won't cover a motorhome purchased at Camping World. WTF?!? He paid for an annual membership to cover his motorhome and other vehicles. The contract is between Coach Net and my father. This has nothing to do with Camping World. After arguing for 30 minutes with this supervisor, she said they could try to get him a tire, but he will have to pay for everything (parts, labor, delivery). He can eventually submit it for review, but most likely it will be denied. My advice to everyone - AVOID COACH NET. They are a bunch of thieves that will take your money, and then you over when you need help! More to follow as this story unfolds tomorrow.Richard DalCanto

(Answer from the FAQ): "Your disabled vehicle will be towed to the nearest repair facility qualified to repair your vehicle." Do they qualify repair facilities? If so maybe CW is not a qualified repair center?

I was not there, and don't know who he called first. My brother and I were doing a mountain bike race and learned about the blow out 4 hours after it happened. I would think that if he called the dealer first, once he talked to Coach Net and straightened things out, it shouldn't matter. I will ask him tomorrow. But when I talked to the rep, and the supervisor, they were firm about their policy of not covering a motorhome purchased from Camping World. Maybe after it is a year old, they won't care where you bought it, but as of right now, it is a problem.

Nobody was hurt, which is the most important thing. He said he had no trouble controlling the coach and getting it to the side of the road, but apparently the vibrations were shaking him so badly, he could hardly see what he was doing.

P.S. - Going to bed now. Have to do surgery in the morning. I will update again tomorrow afternoon. Thanks everyone.

It seems to me that when you sign up with Coach Net they want year, make, model, VIN, etc of your rig.

If you then request service for a completely different rig how are they at fault for denying coverage?

The only possible thing I can think of is that Coach Net might have deals with SOME dealers to cover a newly purchased rig. But obviously not for some rig purchased from a major competitor like the Good Sam world.

hummmm----To me it sounds like he bought the coach at Camping World and wanted it towed to Camping World. And, Camping World is not on the qualified list of service centers that Coach Net uses. So, Coach Net would not tow him to a Camping World. maybe?

Is it possible that your Dad was looking for something other than a simple tire replacement/repair or tow to the nearest repair facility? Coachnet like most roadside service providers contracts with various folks to provide services, and it may be that the "closest" person that could provide assistance was NOT a Camping World.

I bring this up because the only explanation that makes any sense to me is that since the rig was newly purchased from CW, your Dad may have called Coachnet and insisted on the rig being returned to its place of origin- now some miles away.

I can't think of any other scenario wherein assistance with a simple flat tire could have been "denied", assuming of course a current membership in good standing and covering the new rig.

IF he just bought from CW he has a year of GS towing. Coach net knows this and they consider GS the primary towing company. Somewhere in Coachnet contract it may be spelled out that if you have dual insurance they are not responsible and to call(in this case GS) your primary towing coverage. Coach net doesn't want to pay for a tow they assume/know is covered by someone else.

I think Rollinhome has the right answer. A new coach purchased from camping world has one year of emergency road side service included. This as well as other incentives that they advertise all the time.

Bingo!

Only explanation that makes sense. Other types of insurance have coverage like this. They pay ONLY if there is no other insurance payment.

1. The Blow out should NOT concern the man's father as there is no way to tell what caused the blow out at this point. He may have hit something in the road or the tire may have been damaged prior to his delivery. NEW tires can fail if they are damaged or hit something.
2. Lets say you have an extended service contract. You have a Part that fails and would be covered by the ESC. BUT, the ESC KNOWS that part is covered either by the OEM or the Part maker. They will DENY coverage (per the fine print in the contract), and make you go thru the correct vendor. IF the First Vendor does NOT pay for what ever reason, the ESC is NOT obligated to pay for the repair.
3. This may be the case. CW has their own Coverage for this type problem on new sales and even tho the OP's father has Coachnet, Coachnet KNOWS that the RV is already covered. So, they decline coverage and is probably IN the contract that if you have overlapping coverage, the PRIMARY FIRST Insurance is who you go to. Doug
