Getting screwed by CoachNet

I have had CoachNet for years, and recommended it to my father when he bought his first motorhome last year. He just paid for his annual membership recently. 5 days ago he traded in his Palazzo motorhome for a new 2014 Entegra Anthem. He was driving it home today from Colorado to Utah when he blew a front tire (just over 2,000 miles on the new Michelin tires, pressure at 120psi cold with tire pressure monitoring system and no warning prior to blow out. Major damage to front and side of coach). He called CoachNet and they are denying coverage because he got his Motorhome at a Camping World dealership. Coach Net says they don't have a contract with Camping World. I called Coach Net to try to help since he is stranded on I-80 and it was starting to get dark and he needed to get stuff into the Jeep before dark. I eventually got on the phone with a "supervisor" who told me the same thing - they won't cover a motorhome purchased at Camping World. WTF?!? He paid for an annual membership to cover his motorhome and other vehicles. The contract is between Coach Net and my father. This has nothing to do with Camping World. After arguing for 30 minutes with this supervisor, she said they could try to get him a tire, but he will have to pay for everything (parts, labor, delivery). He can eventually submit it for review, but most likely it will be denied. My advice to everyone - AVOID COACH NET. They are a bunch of thieves that will take your money, and then you over when you need help! More to follow as this story unfolds tomorrow.

  • I completely understand everyone's skepticism. What Coach Net is doing makes no sense to anyone with a brain. This is why we are so upset. My father is a very intelligent, educated person. He was head of Neuropathology at Northwestern for many years. My brother and I are both surgeons. We aren't making this stuff up....
  • Did he transfer the coverage from his old coach to the new coach? I highly doubt it happens automatically. If CoachNet doesn't have a record of the vehicle being covered I imagine that would be a serious problem for them to provide service.
  • He had coverage on the old coach .. Trades for a new one and on the way home has the blowout and coach net is saying the old coach coverage doesn't transfer to the new one ? I don't understand why they care where you bought it if you have paid towing coverage .. I assume camping world must give a free year of their svc to those who buy from them ? I'd also be bending over to help them if I was camping world and sort it out later ... But camping world isn't known for that IMO
Be interesting to see what happens.
  • (Answer from the FAQ): "Your disabled vehicle will be towed to the nearest repair facility qualified to repair your vehicle."

Do they qualify repair facilities? If so maybe CW is not a qualified repair center?
  • Why would Coachnet ask where you bought the coach? We actually have Coachnet (included in our insurance) and Good Sam's. Can't wait to hear 'the rest of the story'.

Wishing you and your Dad the best of luck.

That is what I thought when I first talked to my dad and he was being denied coverage. He is 70 years old, and English isn't his first language, although his English is very good. I thought he misunderstood or didn't explain things correctly. My brother and I were in my car together when we were talking to coach net, and got the exact story my father told me. We can't believe it either. Coach Net is saying he should have GoodSam as part of his purchase. He called GoodSam, but they don't have a record of him yet. The dealer says they will try to get it straightened out tomorrow. So basically, he should have double coverage right now, but Coach Net is denying him.

I had the pressure wrong. The dealer set the front at 125psi right before my dad left. Definitely not low. He is freaking out a little about future blow outs, since a new Michelin at correct pressure can blow with no warning....
