The GM and Thor agreed that a unit of our same color was to be "transported" between The Factory and my CW. I got almost daily updates from the GM. Interestingly enough the day I was called and told that this supposed Palazzo had just came in the GM was on vacation. Someone got their wires crossed apparently and it just made a bad situation worse.
If I am reading this correctly, then the "replacement" RV is still on its way, or are you simply "Done' with it all?
Well, that's what we thought, until they showed me one that was not what was promised. and YES, we are "done". - 2bzy2cExplorer II

So, is this just another stall? The impression I get is CW cannot be trusted to make it right, or follow through. Just who is running the store?

I wonder if you got marcus involved in this dispute if that would somehow get this situation rectified. he seems like a very bright and honest business man to me although I think THOR is more to blame than CW is
Really, OP stated in the conversation between CW's GM and Thor MC, Thor had several units heading to CW, the unit presented seems like is was dragged off another lot location, not delivered from the factory. The factory MSRP sticker will show the original purchasing dealer/destination of the unit.

Yes, Although I have never personally spoke to Marcus(I don't expect to) but I have a good feeling based on this thread and the "willingness the local CW GM is to work with us", the CW executive team knows all about this problem. Let's face it. Camping World and Thor has a larger issue here at hand. I've got the CW GM and SM telling me that Thor is getting "beat up" over all these Palazzo slide out issues. They are also telling me they are going to stop selling anymore Thor's until they can get there act together. (WHY DOES ANYONE THINK I AM GOING TO KEEP THIS THING AFTER HEARING THAT?) These are some of the things I have not mentioned until now. No need to go back in the tread to figure out there are larger issues at hand here. All I know is, come Saturday morning regardless whether CW buys this thing back or not, we are not accepting it. We are going to collect our belongings and walk away from it. We felt like we really never took delivery of this thing at any rate. There have been major problems from day 1. I will add too that CW had already offered us up another manufacturer. However, the caveat is I'd have to come up with 15 to 25 more K to make that happen. I have also not brought that up till now. All that was IMHO was a sales tactic to just make more money. Can you blame them? I for one cannot afford anything more and that's why we settled on a Thor Palazzo. Unfortunately it did not work out. - bycrackeyExplorerI wonder if you got marcus involved in this dispute if that would somehow get this situation rectified. he seems like a very bright and honest business man to me although I think THOR is more to blame than CW is
- jorbill2orExplorer III believe what the op saw May have been factory fresh. What THOR said according to the op was several units on the line were already slated ( have PO for) camping world and maybe originally to be sent to little rock so they diverted it to the local camping world before or after it made little rock . If they didn't "prep" it when it came in it would be road dirty (snow road travel?) and possibly missing parts from road or theft while in transit, or heater panels that weren't installed securely. Have you seen these things before any dealer preps them? I have and they look terrible especially in the middle of winter! Re the wrong color oops there bad ! Just plain stupid on there part . I'm no camping world fan but....
.. . It appears the op has had a sit down with both camping world and Thor brass and they have offered him a new unit ( I don't remember reading this until just now and the conversation took place two weeks ago ) them offering a new unit to him is beyond what I would have expected , the right thing mind you but I was sure it wouldn't happen .. I was wrong!! if it were me I would have looked a little closer at what they were showing me build date, etc before I walked out but then again the color may have been a show stopper needing no more effort
I've owned two Thor trailers and I probably will never purchase a Thor product again , camping world is not top of my list on places to buy a RV due to bad reviews BUT . Maybe I didn't read it ( thread is getting too long to re read :-) )but the" we will replace your RV ". conversation 2weeks ago leads me to believe there's more going on than meets the eye . I hope the op can resolve the situation to his benefit - bullydogs1ExplorerYou gotta love some of these idiots..
It had Camping World Stickers all over the windshield and a label that said CW of Little Rock Arkansas on it. It was missing a porch light lens and a hot water heater cover
Color is subjective..
That being said...
but here is what manager should have done..
1. Is unit factory fresh within 30 days ??? Yes/NO..if NO not acceptable, if yes..proceed.
2. Does unit appear cosmetically acceptable knowing the situation ?? Yes/No...Missing hot water heater cover...shows they have Stevie Wonder running Quality Control...Porch light is easy..that is not a showstopper...but to have manager miss hot water heater cover?...
Check DATE of Manufacture...if not acceptable than CW tries to halfass the fix with another camping world franchise...
Sorry Gang...I have no acceptance of half ass stuff like this...

Lack of quality in RV's, epsecially entry level (like it or not the Palazzo is an entry level DP) will continue to be bad as long as we as consumers enable it. We enable it by buying them. We know it up front, buy them anyway and then complain. Too late. Money was made. Sales will not suffer because people still want them. Rv's are an anolomy in the that they are a heavily depreciating asset, no quality control but fly off the shelves anyway. The reason is there is a low quality standard among all manufacturers. Say what you want they all have problems. Unless there is a company that is willing to stand up, make a better quality product to compete on the entry level market at a competitive price, it will never change.
Hasn't every company that has tried to make even a slightly less-bad unit folded? (Carriage, for example.) Only one that comes to mind that is actually built well is Airstream. That way leads to less revenue and at the end of the day it's all about money. What's the cheapest product I can make and still get you to buy it. And it works. Educated consumers as we are, buy anyway and then complain that the bargain RV we bought has issues. You can boycott. But then you won't have that brand new RV. Not saying it's right, but that's reality. The ONLY way this will be forced to change is more regulation on quality control. Then you have complaints about Nanny state, guvmint infringement etc. Everyone hates goverment until they need it. Everyone hates cheap quality RV's but they buy them.
Because there is NOTHING ELSE AVAILABLE. It really is that simple.
Thor owns Airstream
