Longweekends: Who is the jerk that plays "taps" on some electronic horn every morning @ 7 am????
Moisheh
Moisheh - The "taps" you refer to at 7am, is actually reveille. The "jerk" you refer to are our brave service men and women at Davis Monthan Air Force Base.
Reveille is played at 7am while the flag of the United States of America is being raised on the base.
It is a tradition that I enjoy and cherish. I can provide you with a listing of other RV parks in the Tucson area that are farther from the base if it bothers you. - LongWeekendsExplorer

Well now I am bummed I didn't hear it! That would have been cool to have the kiddo hear! - mccsixExplorerThe Sound of Freedom
- moishehExplorerI don't have any problem with the soldiers playing that tune. That is a nice thing. It sounded so close I figured it was someone in the park. That would not be nice. There were 2 clubs at LD and I just figured it was one of them. My bad. Sorry.
Moisheh - sailor_louExplorerIt's been over 30 years since I woke up to reveille, I am going to add that to our list of places to stay for old times sake. Do you also hear taps at night?
BTW, that was a proper and humble response Moisheh.

05 Travel Supreme Envoy - JohnnyTExplorer IIWe have never heard any bugle play when we have stayed at the old Beaudry, now Lazydays gonna be KOA campground.. I do have a question... been a long time since I was in uniform... but I am thinking that Call to Colors[url=]is what is played when the flag is raised... I also do not remember reveille being as late as 7 AM.. Must be the Marines, Air force, Army, Coast Guard, or National Guard that got to sleep in till 7... :B
Back on topic... It will be interesting to see what changes if any in terms of amenities, and rates. Years ago the campground had sites that had hot tubs..Then they went away. Last time we stayed there Beaudry was just exiting bankruptcy.
Johnny - TucsonJimExplorer IIYou're right. I looked up the DM website, and it's call to colors.
