Leveling question.

The better question might be.....Has anyone ever found an auto level that works?....There are adjustments that you can make to your system to help it get closer but I am not aware of any system that gets it exactly right without a bit of human intervention.

I feel I can get entry stairs a little lower then auto does. And I can also lower driver side a little so A/C drains away from camping side.

When I pick a spot if I’m already close to level front/back, right/left I auto level. If I’m farther off than I’m comfortable with I manual level as best I can but I’m not worried about being perfect. The reason I don’t auto level in this situation is that the rear jacks raise me higher than they should which means the front jacks will do the same. Greater risk of having one of the rear wheels off the ground. Just my experience.

If calibrated correctly, auto levelers work just fine. I've always pulled in, dumped the air, hit auto on the leveler pad and opened a beer. Works every time for me.

My auto levelers (Well semi auto) Failed completly now fully manual and I'm still working on the system.

But that said. There is a "Range" to the level it is not absolut center of circle (Assumes a round level) .. The senistive device can be 3 deggrees off level..

Side to side. that can be over 4 INCHES.. I'd not want to sleep that far off

(end to end it is over a foot on my rig and I've been there for a period).

Thanks everyone. I just thought if it was automatic then it should be automatic. No help from me. Wish I could have just stayed with my old 2003 Tradewinds.

I also only manually level. Seems to put way less stress on the motorhome. My auto level also seems to bring up the motorhome higher than is necessary. Many times it brings the front wheels off the ground.

Auto level is the only function on my rig that actually works 100% of the time.

Two choices: (3 actually)

Do all of the leveling by hand and forget "automatic".

Use automatic and touch up as needed.

Use automatic.....and then if you don't notice anything that bothers you, leave it there. It doesn't need to be PERFECTLY level.
