Macerator System

Our ( and most) Monaco motorhomes came with a factory installed sanicon system.

The also came with a techma macerating toilet.

I am reasonably convinced that the 2 should go together. I've never had problems pumping solids thru my sanicon because, well, I don't.
Any solids are thoroughly liquefied in the Techma toilet.

Last year I did rebuild my sanicon. Other than the smell, it was easy. There was hair wrapped around the chopper blades, and the impellor was flatout gone.
Judging from the sound of the rebuilt pump, the impeller had been gone throughout my ownership.

After having a Robin Williams Moment with a stinky slinky years ago, I would never ever ever give up my sanicon and my techma.
Dumping the dump is a no brainer, and not terribly unpleasant.

I bought the sani con and was disappointed when the bolts that hold the pump to the motor snapped off after using the pump two times and never having pumped solids. Thetford was of no help and could not supply any parts to repair the pump which I was willing to purchase. Not even a good will offer of any kind( I was out of warranty but had used it two times. I understand they had no obligation to help me out but they should at least have replacement parts available ). After searching the internet I did find repair parts and it has worked ok since but I would give the flo jet a try maybe better support if you have a problem. Also after having a macerator pump the remote that comes with the flo jet seems like it would make thing a bit easier when using the pump alone.

I have a Flojet that pumps aboot 130 ft on a regular basis. I did have to replace the impeller and clean out the blade a few times.

Most use a Jabsco pump. You can buy them on line and make your own. Remember they started out as a pump to clean out bait tanks on boats. Most marine stores carry supplies for them....Dennis

They all will pump uphill...no need to get a heavy duty one (I'm not even sure anyone makes a HD one).

Keep in mind that you will have to do annual maintenance on it. The macerator metal blades will get hair wrapped around it and will need removal from time to time. The internal macerator impeller is made of some sort of plastic and the vanes will break off and need replacing. I always kept a spare impeller with me.
