Oh geez, why don't you read what I wrote again. I said I don't want my residential neighborhood to look like a trailer park. That is not bigotry. If you want to live in a trailer park or that's all you can afford then I'm fine with that, live in a trailer park. But don't turn a residential neighborhood of regular houses into a trailer park by having RV's parking in half the driveways.

So, for an HOA, the easiest solution is NO rvs, boats, trailers of any kind on the property. And in my view they have to do that because of the endless bickering about what is unsightly vs. "my property, my rights".

Not just an HOA, we're talking city ordinance here. In our town it's no RV's in the front which is a pretty standard ordinance in many towns in California. A few towns don't allow RV's on your sideyard either, and I think that's going too far, but I don't live in one of those towns, and I wouldn't.

We disagree. Not a bingo. As others have stated, this could be caused by some thinking that junk all over the front yard, driveway and/or curb is OK. It is not OK. It is about property value and a pleasant living environment. I am not defending this proposed law, as I do not know if it is warranted. I do know that because of some inconsiderate neighbors, rules are important. It protects my rights to live in an environment that is not ugly.

My HOA has a rule of no MH in front of the house. MH must be behind a 6' fence. Wood fences required and must be maintained. I am good with that. My MH sits beside the house. Others in the neighborhood have MH & Boats behind the fence.

One of the reasons many have bought in our community is because of the curb appeal. We like it that way.

It is not about someone taking your rights, but raather protecting your rights, living environment and property.

You're all missing the point. Right now it's RVs parked on your property, next it'll be no cars parked in the driveway and everyone has to have a white front door. It's about government telling you what you can do on your own property. Why allow them to take you freedom? Why just roll over like that? Surprising especially with a free spirit community like RVers.

Oldman, Our neighbor has 8 cars, 2 four wheelers. a dirt bike, a Harley, and a covered utility trailer. The house and yard look like a meath house. There are 3 trees down in his back yard from the recent storm. We don't like it, but the city and the lean holder have not been able to do anything about it. No, I did not mean to call you a bigot, that was a reference to other comments. We have always liked your town, mainly because it had one of the last dirt tracks on the east side. RVpark, this is still America, I feel that you should be allowed to do what you want with/on your own property, as long as it does not create a health or safety hazard. I will not live in a place that has a covenant code. If someone wants to paint their front door orange, go for it. I'm more than able to defend my family from most hazards that exist. These discussions always seem to get heated and on the verge of getting out of control. I don't believe I have threatened anyone here. If I have, I apologize. I'm not going anywhere.

Just makes me glad that I don't live in the city.
