The whole point of this post was NOT about any existing regulations by HOA's, city ordinances, etc. Naturally everyone knows about them when they move in and should accept them as the rules.
It was about a city that wants to CHANGE the RV ordinance after the fact, which should be fought as much as possible.
Yes, but how you fight it?
You go on city meeting and you have 10 RV owners v/s 100 like Mark.
With lack of universal codes any "commando" can force any rules they like.
Than when trailer in one neighborhood can be pride of ownership, in other neighborhood it is annoyment.
For me simply rule would be that if you want to impose some "cosmetic" laws, that should be jurisdiction of HOA. You don't want different vehicles on the street, buy in one of those.
But once you allow city to dictate what you can or can't do on your property, there is no end.
As we already pointed, it starts with ordinance forbidding RV on driveway, so far it went up to city ordinances forbidding solid fences and RV on side and back yards, unless you hide them by 75% (good luck with that) and we can only speculate what will be forced in the law tomorrow.
