Gasser only with those requirements.
Between $80k - $90k, which is probably doable for an older DP, but there aren't many newer DP's with bunks at that price. And the wife would like something 2011 or newer. - gone2dadesertExplorerhand calculated 6-7mpg avg. @ 65mph-ish towing (see sig)

curious, why are you considering moving from a diesel to gas? I usually here the other way. Thanks
We're looking at units with bunk beds. And to meet our price point, it'll probably be a gasser. I really hate to give up the DP.
What's your price point?

yeah you're spending minimum $140k on a new entrey level DP. FR excursion (no bunkhouse) and Thor Palazzo 33.3 come to mind. Palazzo touts it's mileage in the 10-12MPG range but best price I could find was $139k. I get 8-10 mpg on the ACES and they are light coaches (16k#). Same Ford V-10, add more weight, mileage goes down. 8-10mpg on a 30 footer, 6-8 mpg on a 34'+ would probably be accurate averages. - tderonneExplorerGetting to the OP's question about the newer F53's. The five speed doesn't help fuel mileage at all, it has the same gear ratios in the top three gears. Ford did drop the axle ratio in some of the lighter GVWR chassis in the last couple years though, that could help a little.
- brandonrvExplorerhave a brand new 2013 gasser with this engine.. Lets just say it's not good..
6 probably average. With my toad it's worse. If the wind is behind me it's better obviously, but thank god it's got a huge gas tank. - chloe_s_ranchExplorerWith current gas prices I find that if I budget about $.50 a mile it works out pretty close. 1000 mile trip, about $500 for gas.

Nick - DandSWExplorerAnyone stating mileage on a Class A motorhome with the V10 engine in double digits needs to refigure their calculations. Have owned two now and both were in the 6-8mpg range depending on conditions. Would love to get 10+ but just not possible.
