OK...now I'm confused !

Just had new Goodyear 245/70R19.5 Load Range H installed on my MH. On looking at the on-line Goodyear Load/Inflation chart it does not show a Load Range H for 19.5 tires. 19.5 tires according to the chart only go through Load Range G. According to the chart, Load Range H exists only on 22.5 tires. But, my new tires are 19.5 and clearly Load Range H.

I know I can go back to the Goodyear dealer but was wondering if any of you have experience with this or otherwise have an explanation. Are Goodyear charts simply not up-to-date?

    "Oasisbob".....Using the MAX tire pressure on a trailer, like your Bantam Trail Lite, is often okay and will make the tires last a long time. Using the MAX tire pressure on a motor home is not a good idea. It will make for a horrible ride and other issues such as excess wandering.

    The pressure on the side wall is maximum pressure and not the pressure suggested for loaded weight. That pressure will be too high in most cases, causing a rough ride and possible tire wear.

    I doubt that you would notice any difference in ride between RV or truck tires. The only difference is that an RV tire MAY have more UV protection chemicals in the composition of the tire.

Assuming my new Goodyear rated "H" tires are not G670's (how can I tell?), what problem is that, if any, for me and my MH? Does it indicate that I bought 'truck' tires rather than RV tires? Is this bad? Should I return to the Goodyear dealer and demand G670's? As you see, tires are not my strong-suit. Any help will be appreciate. / Larry

    Paul, believe you were looking at the 265/70. Mine is a 245/70. I'm not upset with the H rating just don't know why I can not find any reference to it on Goodyear charts for my size tire. In fact, I'm glad to have that higher rating even knowing the ride might be a bit harsher. A G rating would have been 'adequate' for my weight carried.


    Right you are. I looked at the 245s and my eye dropped to the 265s as I was copying the numbers, dang, sorry about that. Comments may well hold depending on your GAWR. I assumed you were using RV tires, not truck tires, too harsh for my taste.

    Just looked at the chart myself. Unless you are running over the G rating weight limit 5355(G) Single, 5070(G) Dual, you can work with the chart numbers given. They appear to be the same at lower weights. The high weight is for G rated tires and the lower weights are for F and G and presumably H.
