Here's another problem that may be related to this topic. I have verified that the air and exhaust brake electrically function normally. We have a 1992 Monaco Dynasty with an 8.3 Cummins and an Allison 3060 transmission. The trans does not display the 6 to 2 when the exhaust brake switch is activated. I have been through the system including: making sure the throttle switch is active and functioning, changed the relay in the trans control module.
After cleaning all the wires at the transmission the problem has changed. Now, the trans downshift from 6 to 2 readout and the brake does activate after a delay when the MH is first on the road. As I continue to drive the delay from turning on the switch gets longer, maybe 45 seconds or more.
Is it possible that connecting to an Allison control module computer can diagnose this issue?
