It is always better to have some one care for the house. - way2rollNavigator IIWhy wouldn't you?
- I should have mentioned. FAILURE(leaking) of the 2 stage LP regulator at the tank after a few years is common. Leave the tank ON and you come back to an empty tank. Doug

Then why the question? - wolfe10ExplorerAn absolute MUST (turn it off at the tank) if stored indoors or in areas where there is even the remotest possibility of a FIRE.
A fire, irrespective of the source (your RV, a neighboring RV, wild fire, lightening strike fire), can easily melt/burn a propane line and now you have a REAL BLOWTORCH. - 1. ALWAYS turn off LP when not using the RV
2. You need to turn the LP tank ON and OFF at least once a month to keep the valve free and the valve stem seals exercised.
3. You never know when a part of the LP system could break or leak and then fill up the RV with LP. I have had older RV's that someone left the Over/range Pilot light ON and NOT LIT and this drained the LP tank and filled the RV up with LP. Internal Gas valves or Appliance regulators can fail and leak. Doug
