- ronfishermanModeratorNormally I do not ask someone to read the manual. But for this question there is list of all the Gauge Abbreviations in the manual. Here is a link to the manuals on different versions of Scangauge II.
- crcrExplorerI wanted to pull trans temp, and was the only reason I was willing to spring for a Scan Gauge. I called the manufacturer, and they told me that they didn't think it was possible to pull the trans temp on my vehicle, a 2008 Toyota 4Runner. But I read on a 4Runner forum of one person who programmed in some numbers, and got trans temp, so I gambled and bought one. I programmed in the numbers, and I also now have trans temp.
So I can't say if you could pull trans temp on your Sprinter. I would just suggest you find a forum for owners of your vehicle and inquire as to whether anyone has been able to pull the data you want with a Scan Gauge. - Just_LeeExplorer

There is no ability to get trans temp in the Sprinter on a ScanGauge that I know of.
That being said, you want to have a code reader with you anyway so why not have one that displays lots of good info? I keep water temp, LOD (I use it to downshift climbing) , MPG average, and boost up on my display. I also use it to plan fuel stops using the miles remaining function. I highly recommend having one for the price. If you get a rogue CEL or one induced by accident (you can induce one by pulling the chassis battery disconnect too soon after shut down on a Sprinter) you can read it and clear it.
I do have one and have it set-up. I have to figure out to change the display. Not sure LOD is and what lettering shows boost? And what does CEL mean?... This is a HUGE learning curve for me. All I know is it displays H2O temp everything else is a bonus.
Thanks LeeB - DakzukiExplorer

You will have to add the Transmission Temp display to your Scan Gauge.
There are also additional functions you can add depending on what vehicle you are driving. Just go here for additional information and select the make of vehicle:

It took me a couple of attempts to get my transmission temp entered.
You can adjust the mpg setting to match your MH by adding an adjustment. It is explained in the documentation. After adding the adjustment based on real world figures our scan gauge provides a pretty accurate record of our MH average mpg.
You can do quite a bit of customizing to the scan gauge displays if you are so inclined - Just_LeeExplorerI just got one... How do you get it to show Transmission Temps?
- DandSWExplorerOne of the handiest tools I have added to my coach. I watch Speed, MPG, Transmission Temp, and Water Temp normally. Fairly accurate and has other features such as trip info and trouble code functions. It's a good addition to the standard monitoring gauges and provides way more info.
- crcrExplorerLove mine also, trans temp, water temperature, accurate rpm, not so accurate altitude, mpg, etc. Also can check for engine codes & clear them.
- HarveyjExplorerA great little device. I monitor water/trans temps, trip info and mpg.....love it when it reads 9999 mpg when coasting down a hill :-)
- Ro646aExplorerWe have one in our 2001 Ford V10 Gas MH. It's great! I keep mine set up to constantly monitor engine and transmission temps, fuel mileage, and air intake temp (helps to have an idea of outdoor temps while driving).
It is capable of many other functions as well, but that is what I usually monitor with mine.
