States with no tax on private party purchase?

Before you consider Nv, check to see what the registration fees will be. They are rather high here.

If you don't like the taxes and fees passed by the legislature move to Arizona (or some other state). This taxes were passed by majority vote in the legislature. Voted on by legislators you voted for (or against).

Yes the TPA you are referring to is an annual $75 fee on Motorhomes.
No I'm not paying it, it's a "weight fee" on Motorhomes, not trailers.
Although light-trucks did get a increased "weight fee" in the same package and a (smaller) weight fee on passenger vehicles.

Yes it was passed in 2005 and certainly NOT running for only 5 years. In fact the exact wording is "...rail, ferry, transit,
freight, and local transportation projects across the state between 2005 and 2021"

The OP was asking about SALES Tax, not annual fees, so you are now tossing out some kind of red-herring.

Yes private sales don't pay a "sales" tax they pay a"use" tax at the time they register the vehicle.

Califonication is the best state I ever moved out of. I've been very happy ever since. Don't buy an RV in another state and register it there. States have ways of tracking you down and making you pay. Read the other 500 or so posts on it. Washington State has identified about a dozen people who have set up limited liability corporations in Montana and has ordered them to pay the tax and up to 35% more in penalties and interest. Correct, and it does not matter if you bought the vehicle in AZ or out of state, If it was purchased from a private party, there is no sales tax, period, when you go to register it, only annual registration fee, which in AZ is separate from sales tax.
