Running that credit card helps a lot of things I have learned. - thgoodmanExplorerSome of these twist off very nicely but most don't. Mine are held into the ceiling with 2 spring clips. Just get your fingers under the edge of the light between the ceiling and the light (you may need a plastic putty knive to help you get started). Then pull straight down (you have to pull pretty hard) until the light pops out of the mounting hole (reverse the process to reinstall the lights). Using work gloves, grip the body of the light with one hand and the lens with the other and twist counter clock wise.
Some are so difficult that even this method won't work. Look at the body sides carefully and you will see 2 flat springs (180 apart) each holding a plastic button into the body. Remove the spring and pry out the plastic botton. You can then lift out the glass lense. I have never successfully reinstalled the flat springs so I stick the lenses back in place with 3M wall hanging putty. I have never had a lens secured with this putty fall out going down the road. - 2ndhomExplorerI wonder if the OP was able to remove his lens?? :h

- pigman1ExplorerGet one of these jar top removers. Jar top remover. You push it up into the ceiling with one hand and squeeze/turn with the other. I got mine hanging on a shelf at Wal Mart and I think it was about 2-3 bucks.

Anyone have any good ideas on how to get the glass lens covers off ceiling lights? I have several bulbs that have burned out and want to replace them, but I have twisted until my arm was going to break and can't budge 3 or 4 of them. I got one free and verified I am twisting them correctly, they just won't come loose.
A better grip with rubber gloves or the garden gloves with one side is rubber.
Give it a slight twist to the right first.
Tap it lightly with a kitchen rubber end utensil. - JR45ExplorerMine has 27 flush mount lights with a silver ring that you push up and turn counterclockwise remove that ring then pop out the glass held in by 3 prongs. Changed out all 10watt Halogen bulbs to LED, now after being on for 4hrs they are still cool.
