- bluwtr49Explorer III have had credit cards cancelled several times due to suspected fraudulent activity but, like others I carry three one of which is dedicated to fuel and related purchases....very good rewards points.
I also firmly believe in carrying a nice wad of cash and one of the credit cards in the safe just in case. That has proven to be a wise decision several times. I also recommend keeping a small amount of cash tucked away in the toad for those times when you forget your billfold. - okhmbldrExplorerOne thing to remember; when you travel; take three different cards. You ask why? One will be enough, right?
Nope. A few years ago on a family trip (16 of us) from OKC to Destin, FL, my first fuel stop was near Shreveport. Used my card to fill, as I'm walking in the station to get a snack, my cell phone rings, the young lady says "Mr. S, did you just use your Capitol One card at (name of station). I said yes, she informed me that my card was compromised at the pump (I don't know how), and that C-one has cancelled the card, but they would overnight another card immediately.
Fortunately I had another card to use for the rest of the trip. Had I only had the one card I would have been toast. (I was paying for all food, hotel and gas for the entire trip).
Now I carry three cards. One is used entirely for gas purchases. The other two are used occasionally at the local big box store. All paid in full each month. - dcbrewerExplorerOne Discover Platinum card!!
- NCWriterExplorerWish Costco stations had diesel. I think there are a few that do, but far between.

Capital One, Visa. You can use these everywhere. Credit Cards provide more safety protection than Debit Cards as far as getting hacked. I don't need anyone draining my bank account. Pay in full each month and they are "Free"
actually, a debit card when used as a credit card has the same fraud protection as a credit card. - bobkatmsuExplorer

+1 It is also easier to dispute a charge on a credit card than it is on a debit card. I don't remember ever paying any interest on a credit card. Always paid off in 30 days.

You might not believe this, but we don't have any Credit Cards, except Sears, which notified us last week by mail, if we did not use the card it was going to be canceled in about a month.
We use only our bank debit/credit cards and cash. Nothing more. We will never go back to a normal Credit Card. .......
.....I can't imagine how much interest this has saved us over the years

No credit cards here either!
I hit the road full time without any type of credit cards on board. Will go to my grave without a credit card in my pocket! :B - DanNJaniceExplorerTwo cards. 1 Visa credit and 1 Visa Debit. Both from my credit union.
I refuse to pay the high interest rates and annual fees that the various "big bank" cash back cards charge.
I have never seen even one occurrence where I have needed any other cards. - 2oldmanExplorer II

Agree.. I can't see how's that dangerous.
I doubt that posting which cards are in your wallet without any numbers, etc., is giving away any family secrets.
