- MbrownExplorerOklahoma is really hard on our RV. Cursed state for us! Had to put the handle for the antenna back on, tighten the handle for the bathroom vent and fixed one blind. Have to go back and check the rest.
NS on that !!!
Oklahoma has THE WORST freeways of Any state bar none !! - ericsmith32ExplorerTook it out and gassed her up and did some grocery shopping. Anyone see my wallet last time I seen it it was running away screaming!
Sure is amazing the difference with the new head unit. Extremely clear and can actually hear it and don't have to crank it up. - quietjakeExplorer"Got the RV home and it had a flat inner dual :"
Discovered mine had very deep rim checks in ALL 6 tires....and they are all coded 11 years old! despite having only 34000 miles, the tread was GREAT....so......$1200 later.....gotta admit, it really DOES ride a lot better....
SOMEONE had obviously changed the more exposed & usually worse outer duals, both now on the inside where less visible. Careful inspection pointed out by my home-town dealer about made me fall over.....worst case of rim cracks I'd ever seen, at least on a tire that superficially looked fine.............. - TravelcrafterExplorerI've been rehabbing my 77 Travelcraft, this weekend I repaired a water intrusion in the cab over. So today I replaced the screw cover in the extruded aluminum trim strip. Tomorrow I plan to do the other side minus the rot repair.
- ericsmith32ExplorerGot the head unit put up front... talk about a debacle. Had to dismantle the entire dash. Hooked it up so I can run it all the time without the key. Might be a pain having to shut if off and on but only use it a couple times a month anyways. Jayco wired the rear speakers with a combo of series and parallel so rewired all of that. Using the speakers for the surround sound for now will get new speakers eventually. Now at least I can turn off the rears so they can watch TV. Sounds good and at least 2x as loud! The new head unit looks right at home and it isn't going anywhere.
- Cousin_Eddie93ExplorerGot a letter in the mail from the town clerk stating I have 10 days to get my RV off my driveway or else face court summons! I've been parking my rig on my driveway for 5 years and its suddenly a problem? Well apparently yes. The town has a rarely enforced no RV's no TT's and no boats of any kind allow on the front of the property including driveways. I mean seriously WTF? Well after talking to the clerk, she said they had to send the letter because apparently there was a complaint made by a neighbor; not just any neighbor but a fellow RV owner who was in a feud with his neighbor over whatever. The opposing neighbor went after him by means of code violation and made an official complaint. According to the clerk, the guy was so posse off that he drove down every street in town and called in every RV and boat owner in violation and that's how I got this letter. Obviously the clerk wouldn't tell me who it was and she said she already gave me too much info, but felt bad. Regardless, as a result, Today I moved Cousin Eddy to his new home on the side of the house (the letter said nothing about the sides) and he's fenced in as well. Only problem with this was I originally stored him here during his first winter. The following spring I discovered a family of squirrels had taken up residence inside my engine. Now mind you, I have a 29' class C with a 460 and anyone here who has the same knows there is virtually no room inside that compartment at all. As a result the little tree rats decided to make their own room and $250 and 8 hours of labor later, I had replaced three vacuum hoses, two injector port harnesses, spliced and soldered various wires and had to build an accelerator cable harness from scratch as the existing one was made for only one year and impossible to find. Thank God for JB Weld.
So now he's back In squirrel country but this time I picked up a few bottles of critter ridder and hopefully that stuff will work. Otherwise I'm screwed.
In the mean time, were looking to move out of town. Not much recourse here. - Rich_PanganibanExplorerGot the RV home and it had a flat inner dual :-(
- eric1514ExplorerPut a new CO detector in. The old Atwood gave one too many false alarms, so I snipped its wires and went shopping.
A replacement from an RV store was $50-$60. A Kidde residential unit was $17 including 3 AA batteries. Figuring 2 years per set of batteries, $.50/battery and a 10 year life span for the detector, it will cost me $23 to own for the life of the unit. No brainer.
Got to use one of the old screw holes, drilled one new one and the unit covers the other unused old one. A five minute install. - klutchdustExplorer IIFinished the install of the new tv in bedroom, need to tidy up the wiring a little. Getting ready to head to the race track in Fontana for the
weekend, friends children drive junior dragsters. Their Dad can't go, he's racing in Dallas. - ericsmith32ExplorerSince our last trip.. Oklahoma is really hard on our RV. Cursed state for us! Had to put the handle for the antenna back on, tighten the handle for the bathroom vent and fixed one blind. Have to go back and check the rest.
Now just doing alot of clean up.. the 2 boys are messy. Did pull apart the dash to look at the Delco stereo. Was going to put a aux input but ended up breaking it. So now putting in a Pioneer DEH-150MP. Going to wire it up so I can fill a switch over to the house battery. Also going to wire up the rear speakers on the actual rear speaker leads since the wiring harness doesn't have those. Putting in 2 6 inch speakers in the surround sound spots. Want to be able to turn off the rears when they're watching TV back there. Also broke the arch going over the steering wheel so have to glue that together.. fine GM engineering 2 tools can remove a Ford radio have to take apart the whole dash to remove a GM radio.
