You're welcome. I did not try and sleep in his motorhome or even go into the bedroom so I can't comment on noise, but I see somebody in here mentioned that they are noisy. If I were trying to decide between the two that would be a major factor for me. I camp a lot in California in places that don't cool down at night so you need the AC. One thing I really like about my roof top units is they are ducted. So at night I don't use the rear unit and just run the front and close most of the vents up front so most of the air goes to the bedroom. It's nice an quiet back there and it works great. And also even though I can only get my inside temp down to 80 when it's 106 out, that is plenty comfortable too. So the real question you need to ask is even thought the basement unit may work better and get you cooler, are the trade offs worth it? Loss of storage and noise?
That is exactly the issue! We camp a lot in CA (I live here!) and will be spending a lot of time in AZ in summer the next three years. I think for me, right now, it is more important to get the inside temp down below 80. I can deal with the noise (ear plugs). And, depending on the other storage options, I will just have to deal with the loss of storage.
My Tiffin needs adjustable vents.
