So the real question you need to ask is even thought the basement unit may work better and get you cooler, are the trade offs worth it? Loss of storage and noise?
That is exactly the issue! We camp a lot in CA (I live here!) and will be spending a lot of time in AZ in summer the next three years. I think for me, right now, it is more important to get the inside temp down below 80. I can deal with the noise (ear plugs). And, depending on the other storage options, I will just have to deal with the loss of storage.
My Tiffin needs adjustable vents.
