Basement air conditioners are right under the bed and you just can not sleep with the noise they make UNLESS you are deaf. But also if you turn on the bed room over head air conditioner with direct air flow, it also is too noisy and to much air. BUT! the advantage of two air conditioners on the roof is that at night all you have to do is run the front air conditioner and it keeps the coach nice and cozy OR you can close the vents and send the air through ducts. The thing is not all coaches are ducted. Mine is and I have used both ways.
Another thing about the basement air conditioner is that if one of the two compressors goes out it is very expensive to replace them and as a matter of fact according to PPL they told me their was only four in the whole country when I was trying to help a friend get one.
