For sure it is a Winnebago problem. Every Winnebago I have seen has the same problem on the drivers door. One other problem they have is major leak in eaves on both sides. Winnebago's fix for that was eterna bond tape down each side on edge of roof.
Not true
Well...actually it is;

And a quick search also found this follow up...
Just got back from talking with the service department. This recall/service campaign requires them to put eternabond across the seam where the fiberglass front cap meet the roof. They are putting a strip of eternabond all along that seam. Service person advised apparently Winnebago saw something they didn't like in some units along that seam and issued this fix.
Then followed up with this...
Further explanation from my service tech when calling Winnebago for clarification. The recall\service campaign requires them to put Eternabond down the length of the coach on both sides where they have that problematic caulk seal that everyone complains about giving them problems. They ordered mine as it is supposed to color match. When I saw the letter I was hoping that was the case and it was!
Actually, not.
Your post says "Every Winnebago I have seen has the same problem on the drivers door.' The letter you posted is a recall notice limited to 2015 models. And, it is the roof cap seam, not the driver's door. Not the same. At all.
And, my 2007 Winnebago has had no problems.

From the Winnebago website (for a new 2016 anyway):
Winnebago Industries’ motorhome warranty coverage is second to none:
12-month/15,000-mile basic limited warranty
36-month/36,000-mile limited warranty on structure
Standard 10-year limited parts-and-labor fiberglass roof warranty
The Basic Warranty is transferable to new owners if you sell your motorhome during the warranty period.
This warranty statement stipulates that only the 1 year basic limited warranty transfers to the second owner. Nowhere does it say the 3 year structure warranty transfers.
It would be nice for Winnebago to step up and fix the problem, but they are under no obligation to do so.
