Did you find make and model of converter?
Enblethen: The converter is a Progressive Dynamics PD 404 5K.
I talked with a few camper repair places and they said that many systems will not provide 12V when plugged in without a battery hooked up. My batteries were not just weak, they were non functional, and now unhooked.
Since I get 12V with the truck running, I assume that is because it is using the truck battery, not the deceased house batteries.
So, I think the best bet is to replace the batteries then, turn my attention to the converter. Even if the batteries get me 12V back, it would still be a good idea to then check the converter output etc, per the suggestions of others.
As soon as I decide whether AGM will be better for someone who boondocks a lot, (vs regular open cell with a watering system) I will purchase and install them. I will keep you posted. Thanks for your help.
