Thanks for all of the information, especially on the converter. (THANKS BUD FOR THE MANUAL). I am going to first replace the batteries which must be done anyway. I have decided to go AGM to eliminate the need to do an archaeological dig under the floor every time I need to access the batteries to check water (one pain in the butt design sacrifice in the Provan) or, to install a watering system. A NAPA Excide AGM battery is $40 cheaper each than the Interstate brand. Tomorrow I will double check the specs to see if there is any major difference and be sure the NAPA isn't some sort of "hybrid" marine type battery. Marine batteries are cheaper but may sacrifice some deep cycle functioning for starting power for boats. Internet searches give the usual "I like mine" or "I hate mine" for both NAPA and Interstate brands.
Hopefully the new batteries will restore 12V with and without shore power. Even if the new batts do fix the problem I will still use the info from you all to thoroughly test the converter. But I want to wait to do that until I have the complete set up. Thanks again to all. I will post the results.
