So after seeing the Weber WSM 14.5" at Walmart in Gaylord on the way to the in laws last night, I started seriously thinking about it for camping. Got in the tvwbb.com forum to see what the small smoker is capable of, and read some are finding it as cheap as $100 or even $50 on clearance, marked down from $200..... So a call to the store this morning revealed I have a Weber problem, as I ran back to the store and bought the assembled display model complete with manual and cover for $50!!!!!Now I no longer need to lug the larger 18.5" WSM when we want some awesome smoked dinners....Here is a pic of the 3 pork butts I smoked last week while camping at Higgins Lk in Northern Michigan. They totaled just under 27lbs.I figure as long as I can get 2 butts on the 14.5" that are 16-20lbs total I will be good to go.Just need to see if I can store it in the 32 somewhere.So if anyone is considering the small 14.5" WSM, check your local Walmart for a "smokin' price"!!! :)

I picked up one of the Weber Q 2000 grills at Home Depot for less than $100 last spring. Not for the MH, but we have a BabyQ that goes with up in the MH. Liked it so well, that when I saw the deal on the bigger Q2000, I couldn't pass it up.

Nice price on the Q!!!Wish we got our Q220 that cheap though!!! Thought $150 for it was pretty good though, so no complaints. Been very happy with the Q so far since this last June. Only complaint is I haven't found a folding cart that fits the 220, as the new 1000/2000 series carts allegedly don't fit the 220 series.

Nice price on the Q!!!

Wish we got our Q220 that cheap though!!! Thought $150 for it was pretty good though, so no complaints. Been very happy with the Q so far since this last June. Only complaint is I haven't found a folding cart that fits the 220, as the new 1000/2000 series carts allegedly don't fit the 220 series.

Well, it was $53 w/ tax!!! Lol I may check once we get home to see if the local Walmarts have any more.

My better half (my "sous chef"! Lol) made the seasoning, from one of the Weber cookbooks. I will have to ask her which one it is.

I use a mix of apple and cherry for wood. Usually try to have 2 chunks of each, but this smoke had 3 of one as my wood chunks are running very low. So it was 3 smaller pieces and 2 larger.

Only thing I would have done different is to use some skewers next time to hold the 3 butts away from each other just a little for more bark where they touched. I looked real quick in the camper but didn't see any. So on the smoker the butts went. Then a couple hours later I opened one of the outdoor kitchen drawers and guess what I found.... Yep, the skewers I was looking for!!! Oh well, the pp still turned it awesome!!!

I just hope to get the same results from the 14" WSM without much of a "learning curve" for the new smoker!!!

I know what you mean about the skewers. Bought wooden 14" and 6" skewers on sale around Independence Day and thought I was soooo smart to stock up.
Didn't dawn on me exactly what the kiddos were using to start camp fires until I needed them and couldn't find 'em....

Be sure to register your grill with Weber. Even though you got it cheap, it is still warrantied. Weber are great folks to deal with and stand behind their products. I bought a Weber Silver gas grill, real cheap when Service Merchandise went out of business, and it had a broken hinge on the cover. Weber sent me a new cover, and almost 12 years later when the grill box burned-out, they sent me a new grill box, since it was still within warranty.

The skewers we have are metal that came in a 'Que kit for the grill. But who know what our boys may try to use those for, spear fishing maybe!?!?!? Lol

Heck, it was 3 or 4 years ago I got the 18" WSM, then last year the Genesis S330, then just this past June the Q220, now the 14" WSM!!!! Yep, I may have a Weber Problem!!!! Lol

I guess I have a Weber problem too. I've got 2 Q120's a Q330(?), and I gave my Silver to my daughter, and my previous Weber to my son. I liked my smaller Q's so much I gave my daughter my Silver, and now I'm thinking the bigger Q's aren't as good of quality as the smaller one or the Silver. The grates burned out within warranty and now the burners are shot and the igniter quit working.

Service Merchandise gives you an idea how old my Silver is/was. I had it for almost 11 years and the grill box burned-out, and it turns-out it was warrantied for 12, and they sent me a new box. It was like a new grill when I gave it to my daughter.
