Copilot app not working through vehicle speakers

I am using the premium Copilot app on my IPad 3. I paired the iPad to two vehicles, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2013 Toyota Highlander. It pairs fine, but I don't get any talking through the speakers. I know it's paired, because I don't get any sound at all. Nothing from the iPad or the vehicle.

Has anyone successfully paired an IPad and get the turn by turn voice directions through their speakers?

Trying to fix myself before contacting the help line.

I didn't have it plugged into anything the time. Does it matter what it is plugged in?
I found recently in a rental car using my Copilot app that it would not speak directions when I used the the USB charge port but worked fine when I charged with the 12 v adapter plug. My MH does not have the USB port so I never had this problem before.

You might wish to always carry the charging cord with you.. Our Android tablet normally sips the battery until you start Co-Pilot..

Once you start Co-Pilot it EATS the tablet battery..

Then to make matters worse, if you plug in the charge cord AFTER you have started Co-Pilot, Co-Pilot loses it's mind and any sense of direction.. Forcing us to shut down Co-Pilot then restarting it and then waiting a long time while it finds it's mind and the satellites..

Do you have your charging cable plugged into a 12 v socket or a USB charge port?
  • Have you tried to play music from the iPad Music app to the car stereo to see if the audio link is working?
  • No I made sure it was on and checked to see if it was connected. Since we can't put the app on mor than one device I can't verify if the problem is just iPad related.
  • Do you have the vehicle radio set to the Bluetooth Audio input? That's the only way you can hear it. So that means no radio during GPS use.
  • Happened a couple of times on my truck. Usually i find it paired, but not connected. You might also check to be sure your phones bluetooth is ON.
