Disable Charm Bar on Windows 8.1

I installed Windows 10 Preview on my notebook and lo and behold, there is no Charms Bar.

If I'm doing a lot of typing, I disable the whole touch-pad, as it always screws me up.

I downloaded the Synaptics software and it installed with no complaints. But, it did nothing. There is no signs of it. No desktop icon. Nothing in the control panel. Nothing listed in Task Manager for processes or services. It is not listed in the "Progams and Features" in the control panel. Nothing on the "Start Screen".

I've given up for now. My solution was to stick a 1/4" strip of tape along the right edge of the touchpad.

Many notebooks use Synaptics software for the touchpad. If this is true for your PC, you should be able to disable the swipe "feature". My tablet does not use any added software for the touchpad so I'm still looking for an answer.

Sorry about that.

I'm specifically trying to disable the swipe from right side gesture. There are no settings for this in the control panel/mouse settings. I have disabled the upper right corner gesture in the Taskbar/Navigation settings.

Some notebooks use 3rd party software for the trackpad but Winbook seems to use native Microsoft drivers. I'm downloading Synaptics software to see if that will install.

I wish, just once, a poster would say "Yes, I've tried google" before posting.

Been there. Done that. It's easy enough to kill the corner gestures, but I have not found a way to kill the swipe from the edge. That's why I said "totally".
