Bully for you. I full-time so my "needs" are different than a Weekend Warrior, and I think there are more choices than watching TV 24/7 or not watching it at all.

That said IMHO, JMHO that if you are a boondocker I would 'assume' you do so because you love the remote outdoors and wouldn't want to be stuck in the RV watching streaming movies!! :W:W

Sorry I just don't see the need to have a costly full entertainment package inside the RV to watch 24 7's.

ESPECIALLY if you have kids. One would think you would want to get them outdoors and enjoy nature and being together as a family doing activities while RV'ing and away from all the droning brain sucking electronics. Just saying!

I'm guessing you have not actually tried this? If you have, you are either at one of the VERY FEW CG's that can deal with streaming video (or even allow it) over their wifi, or you have VERY deep pockets to use cellular for your streaming. IMHO, this is bad advice for someone unfamiliar with the technology.

We have Dish Network at the house. Tailgater in the rv. Easy Peazy

We do not have sat at home. I bought a Winegard system from dishformyrv.com right after they offered it almost 4 years ago. I start my pay-as-you-go plan several times a year without too much hassle.Dish is an automatic Winegard dome portable and has worked flawlessly. The only time I have problems is deep in the trees (Obstruction). OP, if you need advice/info on pay-as-you-go, PM me.

OTA is very dependent on where you're camped. I usually only get 4 or 5 stations with decent reception.

Me too, but don't hold your breath, especially for an RV-based solution.

most all of the campgrounds I frequent have at least cable. I did use the term "consistently". obviously if there is no cable, no OTA signals, and I don't have my dish with me I do with out TV.
but the question was "why do you need more than that". my answer was/is cause standard OTA TV has little programing that I am interested in.
