would like to verify with current rv user if you can connect hdmi to tv 1 and coax to tv 2, and watch same channel at same time. I have received conflicting information. Some say you can only watch one tv at a time (only one output hot at once). if you have this setup, please verify. Private messages welcome.Doug

I have a 211 and since my HDMI, RCA, and F connector is selected by the TV, not the 211 I think all outputs are hot at once as there is no selection on the receiver but am interested in seeing the answers. I don't know why you couldn't just split the output from the 211 and run it to as many TVs as desired. I have three TVs linked to my main dual receiver.bumpy

Short answer, yes. Note: you can only get SD on the TV with the coax feed. If HD is a must you might consider running component video cables to the second tv instead. Another solution would be to buy an HDMI splitter which would allow HDMI feed from the 211 to multiple tv's.

Definitely can. I have my living room TV connected to the vip211k via the HDMI cable for HD. The bedroom TV is connected to the vip211k via the coax. I can watch either TV or both TVs at the same time, but they will both show the same channel as the vip211k is a single tuner receiver. Been doing it for years.You do not need two receivers unless you want to watch different programs on each TV.

Our TT had the TV in the living room with HDMI and the bedroom with coax. Both worked at the same time but with the same program. Ours is a 211K. We put the coax from the 211 to the antenna connection and turned off the booster and got the dish to the bedroom and outside tv without running any new lines.

After lengthy call to Dish, got it working. Problem was the rf modulator on the 211k only worked on channel 4. All my tvs have always worked on channel 3. Changing to channel 4 on receiver and tv corrected the problem. Clear picture now.

If I had it go over, think I would just use yrw to coax modulator using the 211Z.

The output channel of the receiver is set in the software (setup menu) so there is no external switch. Let us know after you do a new search. You should come up with the 1 necessary analog channel. It's possible to get a snowy picture from a nearby channel (especially 3/4) when doing this kind of setup.

When I had my 211 receiver....I ran the coax from my Dish to the 5th wheel to a splitter. One side of the spitter went to the main tv and the other side of the splitter I ran the coax to the bedroom tv. I had HD in the living room and regular tv in the bedroom.....but used the 211 reciver to control both TV's. Each tv would be controlled by its own remote and I had different channels on either one. I just changed to a 711 receiver and everything still works the same way.

Bill, didn't know a channel search was required. Will try that tomorrow. Didn't see a channel 3/4 setting on the box but will try that also. If the receiver and tv were on wrong channels, wouldn't
I have no reception at all?

Assuming you did a new channel scan on the TV so the TV could find ANALOG channel 3 or 4 and it did find channel 3.0 or 4.0 then you have a bad receiver. If not, you have to start over.

Bought a remanufactured vip 211k and installed today. HD side is fine but the Coax (SD)reception is terrible and very snowy. Connected direct to a tv to make sure not in my wiring and still the same.

Do you think I might have a "lemon"?

Here's a summary of 211, 211k, and 211z differences.

All flavors of the 211 can support at least 2 TVs. However, both the 211 and 211k have RF outs which makes it easy to connect a 2nd TV in an RV.

Though the 211z doesn't have an RF output, one can be added with an RF modulator.

I have a 211k...... the front tv is connected to the hdmi ( and the composite also) the rear tv only had coax running to it so it gets that output .. All three work at the same time, same channel of course.
As you may know The 211k ( not made anymore) also has a built in Ota tuner The newer 211z does not have a coax out feed or the built in tuner

I should have mentioned we prefer HD and the option of watching different channels on our TV's hence our 2 receivers.

Also our 'main' is in the entertainment center and even though you can watch different HD channels in the bedroom they will be on the same satellite as the 'main'...usually no big deal.
