If I may ask, why Nook instead of Kindle?

Because originally Kindle would only read Kindle books, while NOOK would read all the formats for free library books. Kindle books had to come through Kindle, NOOK could get books from anywhere. Kindle readers are good, NOOKs are only in the lower versions now. I am using a RCA tablet most of the time now, my newest NOOK, the big HD+ has gotten flakey recently.

MEXICOWANDERER hates life more than just about anyone I have ever met and I consider myself to be an extreme life hater. You go boy! Everyone is spending their money to develop products specifically designed to make your like your life miserable.
As others might agree, I have no idea what-so-ever you are rambling about here but that's not important. It's just another MW post which generally leads to some strange and interesting topics. Once I have a clue what you are talking about I may be able to give you some helpful input (but I doubt it).

Some of you have been so Product Orientalized, you got to the point where mediocrity is the standard.

Own a NOOK? No? Tough to visualize what I am talking about. Read? No? I read a hundred plus books per year.

I can see why they make cell phones so thin. To fit into a pocket. So then they are exposed and fragile and need a twenty dollar cover to make them thick enough to grasp. Fatter? Bigger battery? Hohoho this is 2017 when everything is read right to left or down to up.

But a razor thin ebook? Slipperier 'n snot with no navigation buttons? Ever try flipping a page 11 times? Ooooooo that's right you don't own a Nook.

The concept reminds me of 1975 Detroit. Where the psychology was "Screwum They'll Eat It"

Because I design systems. Because I can not ignore my customer's comments because I am a slightly post war baby I grew up with different values.

And I am facing a world of chew and spit land fill grade profit makers. Resources depletion because idiots think slippery razor thin appliances with laughable battery capacity are the way to go.

That POS squirted out of my fingers three times this morning. Lucky for me I was in bed. Unlucky for me, the less than year old battery (the Nook) is dying and the battery is treated as good as LiPo batteries can be treated.

An hour ago a farmer with a 3rd grade education no front teeth approached me and asked. "Can you build me something that does not keep breaking?"

I told him "YES!"

And my complaints vex some of you.

You bought it, but it's somebody else's fault that you now hate it. Apparently you didn't do a thorough enough PDI before purchase. :)

I agree MW, there seems to be no accountability with some of these companies. I got a tablet with Android KitKat and even though it only had 16GB of memory, I was ok with that since it had a micro SD slot that could have 128GB.... only there is a glitch in KitKat that does not allow writes to SD card... It can't be rooted and it can't be upgraded. When I complained, the company had a newer model out and actually expected me to buy a newer tablet.

It seems to be a symptom of the engineering folks acting like marketing folks... leaving us to think the device will do much more than it can actually do.
